Which twin is smarter than the other!! rant.gif

I am horrified! As if I'm going to answer that and I haven't really thought about it.

My i.d. girls are just short of 9 months old and as far as I'm concerned as long as they are happy and healthy and grow up to be good people in whatever jobs they choose (as long as the job is legal and doesn't involve selling their body)I'm not interested in smartness and which one is the most intelligent. They both had to work hard to be here. I just want them to be happy and well at this stage.

Has anyone else come across this?

rant.gif rant.gif rant.gif Comments like that make my blood boil!

I have had a few comments along those lines "which is the good & evil, which is funny which is serious, which is one is your FAVOURITE!"

I just say "they are similar but also different & I try not to compare then like that". My sister & I are only 19mths apart in age & people use to compare us ALL the time. I was the cheese & she was the chalk (my mum's words) & I don't want to do that with my kids.

That is soooo rude.

I had this question once and I couldn't believe it. Luckily, I came up with a quick comeback (unfortunately not always the case to come up with some good idea on the spot as you know) and I smiled with a faked smile back: "I am not sure, but you must be the smartest in your family asking this question" dev (6).gif The lady just walked off ... blush.gif

I am trying to ognore the stupid comments and just enjoy the wellmeaning ones.... no point getting upset

Its all relatives who are asking and it just astounds me!

I thought I might start asking them if they can tell which one of their kids is the smartest yet.

I find it amazing that its not ok to ask that about siblings but it is ok to ask that if they are twins.

Wow! People can definitely be rude can't they??

I can't say that this is a question I have been asked yet! I'm not sure what I would say, because my girls are so different, and have very different talents. And to compare your girls at only 9 months of age is just ridiculous!!

Can't wait to hear some peoples witty comebacks! tongue.gif

I sympathise with this silly comment. wub.gif

At my local fruit shop I try and avoid this silly cashier who has stupid comments like that every time.

I usually make it quite clear to anyone that asks such dumb that the questions are just that: STUPID.

My worry is that as the boys get older those sort of questions will continue and they will start to understand them.

I really want my twins to grow up with a strong sense that they are independent of each other and just happen to be born on the same day.

I've been asked before which one is the evil one! rant.gif

It's usually by family that think they are funny... but I am not so amused.

Hello

I have id girls 18 months, and i find comments like those absoluteley rude!!!!!!!!! Do these people not have any brains???????

When people ask me stupid comments like that I have only one answer for them!

" they both shine in their own way "...[i]

This reply really works, they don't ask again...

I just ignore people like that and just think to myself I am so blessed to have two beautiful healthy happy children.

We get asked this too.

The other day someone then stood there and watched them and because Chase couldn't steer the car like Levi said 'The first one born is always a bit slower' unsure.gif

That is unbelievable!!! I wonder if they would ask the same question to someone with singletons, I think not.

WTF?!?! Stupidity. Did you ask if they were the first born? laughing2.gif Or perhaps their stupid theory only applied to twins rant.gif

i hate it as well -as well as the who is cuter/more trouble/quiet/etc etc etc (and another one who gets it more from family than anywhere else) - i've actually had family/friends stand and point at the girls (cause some of them still can't get their names right now matter how often i tell them the colour system we use around other ppl) and say that one is x/y/z - they might be 2 but they're not stupid.

seriously i just ignore them or say they the same as a PP - i really don't see the need to make such comparisons simply cause they happen to be born at the same time, i've never had that asked of myself and my sibling and we're 26mths apart.
