Hi there, we're looking at hiring/hiring to buy/purchasing a water stand/filtration system.

Which company did you go through?

The only companies I'm aware of are Awesome Water (they provide the stand alone system) and Neverfail - who deliver I think?

ours is one that goes on our tap. we LOVE it. http://www.aquasana.com.au/store/ we have new filters sent out automatically (you can choose how often etc)

obviously it only filters and not cools though!

In the past I have used Neverfail-good service & yep they deliver.

Thank you thank you

The water doesn't need to be cooled. Thanks Karen taking a look at the website now. Would prefer a tap one to save bench space.

We have a reverse osmosis system from PSI filters which dh installed and works really well for us original.gif. We have found their prices to be very reasonable (we also use their shower filters).

Thank you. I've read that the reverse osmosis systems are the only ones that can remove flouride....do you mind if I ask why you went with that one?
~Sorceress~
We went with PSI because they were SO much cheaper, and we went with reverse osmosis because if we want chemicals or nutrients added to our drinking water, particularly for the children, we'd rather do it manually wink.gif.

I was a little concerned about the higher water wastage, but ours goes into our grey water stream and the taste is SO much better.

We also use their shower filters because dh was particularly concerned about chlorine gases - and I realised last night that the only two children in our house with a croupy cough are the only two using chlorinated hot water cry1.gif . I noticed the chlorine smell when I was bathing the baby, and kept meaning to get a filter for the bath tap but just put it off - but I'll be getting onto it now!

I'm considering getting a reverse osmosis filter as well (to get rid of the fluoride).

Sorceress - can I ask if they are easy to install? DH is concerned that we would need to pay for a plumber (therefore extra cost).

Did you order online?

That's a good point re the chlorine gases in the shower - I'd never really thought about it before.

Im not in ACT but came accross the thread in the recent topics...thought i'd have my say laughing2.gif

We bought a REALLY nice one from BigW last year, and you can either chose to buy the water from neverfail etc or you can buy a plastic 'container' type thing and just fll the water up yourself with tap water, it then filters the water through and cools it too.. only cost us $200...alot cheaper than buying bottles of water all the time...

If you want a pic of it, PM me...because ill probably forget i posted in here blush.gif
~Sorceress~
My dh is pretty handy wub.gif and didn't seem to have any problems installing it but it did involve drilling a hole in the bench and playing with pipes under the sink. ph34r.gif The people at PSI were very helpful - you could give them a call and ask them.

The shower filters were screw-on - even I could manage one of them! laughing2.gif
