My DS has a very curly hair and lots of it, it is very hard to keep it tangle free and it takes half an hour to comb through his hair.
Anyone has any tips to keep it tangle free and easier to manage? I don't want to shave it off just yet

I use Revitafoam on my hair and my daughters... works a treat.

I use a wide tooth comb - afro comb or similar, spray on - leave in conditioner (good salon quality one, they last longer and don't have that sickly sweet perfume smell) after hair washing also helps. I comb DD's hair twice a day - when dressing in the morning and before bed at night (whilst we're having a bed time read, etc).

Dampen hair with water from a spray bottle then use wide tooth comb as pp suggested. The plastic afro ones are hopeless - better to get one with metal teeth.

My Shirley Temple has such tight ringlets, I don't comb them at all. I spray in some Dorothy (Wiggles) detangler, its in a green spray bottle. She loves it, it doesn't make her hair sticky like some and then I just comb it a bit with my hands.
Works a treat!

My daughter also has very curly hair and I'm not sure what to do with it - what is Revitafoam and where do you get it from?

Oh I wish I knew about this Revitafoam earlier! I cut my son's hair off after he turned 2 as it was just getting crazy & outta control. I still havent recovered. He looks like a totally different person without all his hair and I've felt like I've lost my baby!! Its never going to be gorgeous & curly again!
I know I know... I'm a silly mum worrying about silly things!!! He is happy & healthy and that's all that matters!

my dds hair isn't as curly as some but has definite ringlets and her hair is very fine. Her hair only looks good the day that it is washed (as the curls start to drop), I find it hard to make it look neat on the second day and just use the strawberry spray stuff, and use my fingers but still doesn't always work. Will the revitafoam help this?

Revitafoam is a leave in moisture foam (much like mousse) and you can get it from Price Attack, Jon Le Court, any hairdressing place that sells hairdresser type brands of stuff.
It is great stuff.

I use Johnsons (Dora) Detangle spray, also I find that if I comb/brush her hair in the bath its so much easier as the spray can be used wet or dry. Then it dries so much better and less frizz.
