Well we have just received our DNA testing back and it says my boys are ID ohmy.gif .
I know it says 99.9% accurate and all but I still can't believe it's true as to me they are very different in looks although some family members who don't see them often are still confused.

I was told during pregnancy that they were most likely Frat because they are di/di but small chance of ID.
Nothing more was said after delivery ie whether I had fused placenta or not but they looked very different as one had a full head of hair and the other a baldy.

Anyway my question is, Is there anyone else with twins who are ID but look different.

Do you have a recent photo of them face on? Looking at your sig photos, they look very similar to me. I think us parents of ID twins sometimes "see" them as being so different as we are aware of their personalities as well as their looks. Also with my girls, Harriet was born with more hair, but the way their hair grows is the same. Is that the case for your boys?

Hah! These photos probably won't help the frat argument laughing2.gif
I just think all 3 of my boys look really similar so not surprised the twins have similarities.
It's odd though that all there milestones and other things have been really similar, like hair, eye and skin colour(although same as DS1)
Even their teeth erupted at very much the same time and order, they weighed 5gr different at birth, same length and even now at 2.5 they are same height and weight blink.gif

Anyway will try to post some recent pics..

I think the same thing. When we got our DNA results back i thought i must have taken both the swabs from the same baby ohmy.gif laugh.gif

My 2 are ID (also di/di)and look nothing alike to anyone who sees them often, but if you only see them a couple of times a year they have trouble telling them apart.

I think your boys look Id though blush.gif

My girls are definitely ID as we had raging TTTS, however they look nothing alike due to one having disabilites (related to the TTTS).

Here are some pics taken the other day...

hi,
i also had TTT'S and my boys look alike in most ways but other times you look at them they look different.
we have always been able to tell them apart but i have friends that say they cant.
the shape of there faces are different one has a dimple on the chin and the other one dont.
if i didnt know i had TTT'S i would think they wernt ID.

Hi
I have id girls now 18 months and to me and my husband they look different but to everyone else, not many people can tell them apart. Because we are with them all the time we see their different personalies come through and it changes their facial expressions.

Your boys look like id to me too... (by the way all your boys are absolutely adorable)..

My id (also di/di) girls are VERY identical look-wise. The minor differences are that their heads are slightly different shapes, and we have one with one dimple and one with two. Katie has a freckle on her belly which is very helpful after bathing lol.

Their personalities however are exceptionally different, and give them away within seconds!
