Hi All

Just wondering how much your OBs charged for the delivery etc
Mel_Mac
Hi there,

I am not sure if it differs for everyone, but mine (Dr Jakub Dreher) at the time was about the following:

$150 - first consult (Got about $90 back)
$70 - every consult there after (got about $40 back)
$1,300 for the delivery etc (got $950 back)
$650 - bill recieved after Ayden was born (got $490 back)

We were self funded at the time and got back most of it. We had reached our medicare levi so got back a bit more then we might have otherwise. The hospital was really the expensive cost as we had no insurance at the time and medicare cover none of that.

Hope that helps.

Dr Dreher's delivery cost has gone up to $1500 (I had my baby last week). If you're registered for Safety Net and over the limit, you'll get almost all of that cost back from Medicare. Same with the regular ob checkup fees.

Some obs will treat you as a public patient, which helps with hospital fees.
