Call me paranoid.. I had a little playgroup at my house today and one of the little boys had a coldsore that his dad said was about 3-4 days old!! He has sucked on my DD toys and I am worried about her getting the herpies virus as a result..

I am not sure how long they are contagous for? Should I go crazy cleaning all the toys?

Thanks for your advice.

I would, definately!!!! better to be safe than sorry.

I also wouldn't have brought my child along either if he/she'd had one. GRR @ him.

just be careful what you put in the washing machine, don't wanna damage the drum?! that said, I did put DS's runners in there today, in an old lingere bag laughing2.gif suppose it depends what toys you are washing

boiling hot water is a great way to clean things apparently as it kills bacteria (that's what I was told when learning to cook). But for example, I would normally swish my bath toys or plastic toys eg. little people with some vinegar. But if he had a cold sore I would do something more 'heavy duty' like pine o clean/domestos etc?

good luck- hope none appear, I have never had one so dunno how long it takes to appear or anything. I need to wash all our sufaces etc soon my kids and I have a yukky cold

take care
