Hi
Can anyone recommend a not too expensive brand of kids clothes where the jeans/ pants are NOT constantly falling down and exposing knickers?
DD1 is 4 1/2, DD2 is 2 1/2. Leggings are great but after something a bit warmer. All the jeans we have do not fit well, mostly Kmart/ Target but also some were hand me downs or gifts. I have tried elastic waists and adjustable waists.
No sewing ability unfortunately!
Both girls are quite tall for their age but slender builds
Thanks

DS1 is a skinny kid and I dress him in Fred Bare, Cotton On for Kids and Pumpkin Patch. The best fit is always Fred, I keep an eye out for sales and buy then. DS2 is slim but not skinny so the hand me downs are a year later not two!

I have the same trouble with DS4 and DD2. I have no sewing ability (buttons fall off the next day)

but I have managed to cut a hole in the seam of their tracksuit pants and thread more elastic around and tie a knot to hold it in place, otherwise I'd see if someone you know has any ability and ask them for help.

I just don't think they should make low-rise pants for kids... I am constantly pulling my little girls jeans up as her plumbers-crack is always exposed. I have found the best are the pants that are like tights and highly elasticised.

My DD has the same issue as she is very slim and basically has no a*se.
The best ones I have found are the adjustable waist ones from Pumpkin Patch. I either buy them through the online sales or second hand from ebay.

Thank goodness I am not the only one I have tried so many jeans/trousers,DS is 4.5 and I am constantly telling him to pull up his trousers as they all seem to fall down.
ronnieb-good tip about doing the elastic in the trackpants might have to do that with his.

We also have that problem.
At the moment they are wearing a lot of tights and skirts over the top, so it isn't quite so obvious, however once winter comes the jeans are terrible.
The only things that stay up in winter are tracky pants

.
Keep an eye out for 2nd hand or 3rd hand gap. The gap clothes are designed for SKINNY children, they are great

Defenitely look for GAP stuff the only jeans that actually stay up on DS at the moment are a GAP pair that MIL sent me.

Hi,
Braces if you can find them. I have the same problem with my DS who is 2. I either buy ajustable waists when I can find them ( Big W is usually good for this, and cheap, only around $10), or most times I just use either a belt or braces. You don't see many kids wearing braces these days, and they are getting harder to find, I had trouble finding some for my DS in the shops here (in the end bought them new off Ebay UK, cost was cheap $3, plus only $2 letter postage, just $5 in total . DS looks so cute in them, like a little old man

It keeps his trousers up no problem
Kind Regards

The only trousers that I have found that fit my skinny minnie 4 yr old are expensive brands. I only buy them on sale, so 40% off or more. We have had luck with Minihaha and Jack&Milly.

I'm completely frustrated by pants of all types for my daughters. They are 2 1/2 and TT'd(ing!!) but all the size 2 stuff seems to be designed for kids in nappies I think as they're huge, but size 1's are too short. Over summer they were wearing size 0 shorts, as obviously the length didn't matter for those. I'm also finding that many pairs of pants have a long crotch. MIL is a sewer and has adjusted some pants/trackies, but it can be a bit of a job as some have the elastic sewn in and when I've paid <$10 for a pair of pants from KMart or wherever it's barely worth the effort YK! I didn't even think about trying the more expensive brands, might have to think about that, but for CC and play clothes at home we certainly can't afford the more expensive brands.

Hi
I have exactly the same issue with DD - she's 3, needs a size 1 waist but size 1 pants are too short.
I just gone and bought a bunch of fleecy trackies (Bonds and Big W) as DD refuses to wear jeans. The waists are a little big but better than short legs! I might be able to unpick the waist band and pull the elastic in a bit - I'm no sewing genie either but probably can manage a few stitches.
I know it's probably a no-no but I've used proper safety pins (the nappy ones with the plastic tops) before to hold in the waists. They're pretty robust and don't open.
Try eBay for 2nd hand Gap stuff.
