Hi
Can anyone tell me if this would be suitable for a 4yo girl (turns 4 next month)? I'm wondering if she might be a little bit old for it but am looking for some ectra activities that are cheap. She doesn't start pre-school till next year.
Thanks,

Hi
My DS's did it until they were 5. They really enjoyed all the different activities on offer. The activities they did then they are doing now at school as part of the gross motor skills program.
I am not sure what it is like now as I believe the person that ran the program no longer does it.

I would give it a go, I took my son last year - he had just turned 5 at the time - it is quite good and a bargain price compared to some other activities (he is no longer going as he goes to school now.

Thanks ladies. So do they have to wear any special clothing or just their normal gear? And what sort of activities do they do? This sounds really promising from your comments.

Hi
Loose clothing is best as they can do a bit of climbing. As for shoes I dont think they wear them. I would recommend socks as it used to get cold in there.
I can't remember exactly what they do but what I can remember is things like walking on the balancing beam, jumping of the mini tramp to a big soft mat, swinging on the swingy things (sorry cant think of their proper name). Occassionaly they got the big tramp out. They also did ball activities and a bit of climbing ladders etc. It certainly keeps them busy.

My DS goes to tumbling tots at Charnwood which is the same program I think. He usually wears tracksuit pants or shorts and a loose fitting top.
Aside from what Peta22 said, they also do a warm up kinda thing which is a little dance to music. DS loves that and does it at home for us :-) DS is 2 and a 1/2 but there are children who are much older who go to the class also.

If you are looking for extra activities for a child starting preschool next year you could look into a playschool. My son goes to preschool next year so he started at playschool one day a week for 4 hours. They do alot of the activities of a preschool without as many kids and they are flexible if the parents want to stay for awhile.
