Hey all

OK found out we're having a boy, absolutely delighted.

We have chosen a middle name which was my Grandfather, and our surname is very feminine, it is a girls name. So we need something Masculine but would prefer nothing too common. DH likes William but I dont, I like Rowan, but DH isnt sure. Any suggestions?

???? Allen L....... (girls name surname)

I find Rowan abit wishy washy.

I love Eamon!
But I think a strong one syllable name goes with Allen and a feminine surname

Kent
Tate
Nate

Isn't Rowan a girls name (ie Brooke Shields daughter)?
For a boy I would spell it Rohan.

Good luck choosing and 3 boys is fantastic original.gif

What about Mac O'.....n?

I like William better than Rohan so I am with your husband on that one, sorry!

Or some other names I really like that I think are very masculine but not common:...

I love love love Eamon Allen L***.

Edward Allen L*** sounds pretty good too. We have only had really positive comments about our Ed's name!
bosker
personally I love Ronan - but perhaps I'm biaised

I like Dale..

Masculine and not common at all. It is my husbands name and we have only come across one other Dale - though I am sure there are plenty more out there....
saudade
Evelyn...
Vivian...
He Man...

Nah. How about considering older names like John, Paul, Michael, Simon, Phillip etc. No one chooses these sort of names much any more. Subsequently they seem almost exotic amongst their peers IYKWIM.

I thought Rowan or Rohan was a boy's name too???
LisaMaree82
I agree about Phillip etc. What about Joseph?? Jacob?? Abraham?? Matthew?? I know they are a bit biblical but are very strong names.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions so far!

Rowan/Rohan, although I love it, looks like DH is definitely not keen. But some of your other suggestions are great thank you!
LisaMaree82
What about Lloyd??? This is my brothers name and he has never met another one wub.gif wub.gif

you will be suprised that you think a name is really common and it is not.
We have a Matthew and we only know 1 other kid with the same name.
We liked Michael but we know about 6 Michaels.

If you want a masculine name I would stay clear of unisex names like Rohan/Rowan, Bailey, Dion, Ashley, Jordon.

What about

Anton
Marcus
George
Adam
Stefan
Kurt
Timothy (not that common now)
