Does anyone know what has happened to the Soapbox at the Belconnen Markets? I usually buy cleaning products and detergents there in large quantities as they are so much cheaper (and more environmentally friendly). When I was there last weekend, it seems the store had closed down.

Anyone know if the store has relocated or where I could find another similar shop?

Thanks!
Susana
Yep me too. I was so upset to realise it was closing down a month ago.

The guy who owned it has retired. He bought himself a farm in NZ and is moving there cry1.gif

The Soap Box has been there since I was a kid...well as long as I can remember. Apparently he tried to sell it but no one was interested.

oh that is sad it has closed, I remember also going there as a kid. There used to be one in Queanbeyan too although maybe it was unrelated to the Belco one.

I'm not familiar with The Soapbox, being a recent arrival to the ACT.

But I bought some Australian made Lemon Myrtle hand cream at a market in the Blue Mountains recently and when I looked at their website I discovered that (among many other products) they also make and sell a cleaning concentrate. I'm going to get some, as I love the aroma of Lemon Myrtle and it has natural antibacterial properties like Ti-tree oil does. Based on the ratio at which you make it up, it also seems very economical too.

It may not fit the bill of what you are after but I'll find the website for you if you are interested.

We used to but a lovely Lemon Myrtle soap at the soap box. I know that I can buy it at the local supermarket but always liked buying it at the market.

Shame he is gone as I was thinking about getting some mother's day gifts there this weekend.
