Hi all! Looking for some good referrals to an immunologist.
After one of the previous posts which stated that I can get my allergies tested by way of blood test (learn something new every day) I had a BT done for dust mites and sure enough, it came back extremely high... Slightly disappointed given that for 6ish years I had desensitisation injections but why dwell on it.
Anyway I have decided to consider treatment again and would like to talk to a lovely specialist who might be able to help me out

Any recommendations?

Hi - We saw Dr Mullins/Mullens? last week for DS' food allergies. He's very thorough, which I liked - not like some of the GPs around! I think there's a 2-3 month wait to see him though. I don't know if there are any others in Canberra, as lots of people seem to see him.

Dr Hawkins at Canberra hospital. She's worth the wait, works very hard, and always has extra time for you, as in rings you until she gets through, even after hours.
I have a rare condition which causes me to be allergic to asprin, which causes athsma and pollyps in my nose, hence my lack of smell. So i see her as well as other doctors and she's just fabulous.
I see Dr Matthew Cook at the Canberra Hospital - I see him as an outpatient for an autoimmune disease. He is very thorough - and patient! and has helped me with issues that are not necessarily related to my disease. He also lets me have a say in my treatment, unless there is only the one option

Very happy with Dr Mullins, Tom had a good time and was fine having the prick test or whatever it's called.
The appointment was for about an hour and was $317, I was told we'll get around 2/3rds back from medicare.
