you might remember me complaining about the horrible solicitor a few months back...

well they're up to it again. sad.gif

because they've stuffed us around (contract exchange, settlement was meant to have been tuesday) our seller won't let us have the keys until after settlement on the place we're buying.

but our buyers and their solicitor are insisting we have to be out of here by settlement (we were going to clean after, as there'll be around a 2 hour gap between when we should be out of here and when we can move into the other place). so we're only goign to be able to clean the basics.

now they've decided they're not going to do the pre-settlement inspection until 2pm - so we will have to have all our stuff loaded in the truck even though they still haven't decided if settlement will go ahead (and they've threatened it might not). if they decide we didn't bow and scrap and lick their boots enough (or whatever the **** they want) then we are totally stuffed as we will have to pay to have our stuff in the movers truck - or storage if he has a weekend job - until the next time for settlement - 2pm MOnday. oh and there'll be NO penalty for them because there's none until settlement has been delayed for a week (Tuesday)

i don't understand how they can hold all the cards and we have nothing. this is just so so horrible.

hmmm Karen you poor thing how stressful for you both. I hope that in the light of day it gets sorted really quicly and as painlessly (is that a word LOL) for you. It is not something you need to deal with especially in the early stages of pregnancy and a history of b/p problems. Hey maybe you could pull that one, the sick pregnant person stressed out to the max ROFLOL.
Seriously i hope it gets sorted and you can move today.

OMG, I get stressed just reading about your dilemma, reminds me a little of our move to ACT but ours was nowhere near as bad. Even though things seem to be going everyone else's way - eventually things will have to turn in your favour (here's hoping)...
I hope that all the machinations of your moving from old house to new home work out and you can focus on your growing family, rather than the annoyances of solicitors etc.

Karen it all sounds awful you poor thing. I hope things improve very quickly for you guys. Maybe you should give legal aid a call to see if they can really be doing this? Just a thought as I have no clue what I would do in the same situation but I know my stress levels would be dreadful. Look after yourself and I hope you can get some sleep soon too! I just noticed the time you posted LOL.

Oh Karen, I'm sorry to hear that you are still having problems. It's just not fair sad.gif And so much more difficult when you feel that you don't have any control over the situation.

I hope today goes as well as it can, and that once you are all settled in your lovely new house the horror of the move becomes a distant memory original.gif

Congrats on your pregnancy too, by the way!

I'm sorry Karen. Thinking of you.

things just get worse - our stuff won't all fit in the truck that the removalists have. so now we're desperately tryign to get access at least to the garage in the new house. apparently the people we're buying from havea newborn and they're stressing about the cleaning - we just want a house to move into, we don't care if it's not clean! surely there has to be an edn to this soon!

(plus i can't walk, my back is so bad, so i'm now at M&D's with a wheat bag on....)

oh thank goodness, we've finally got a break original.gif the people we are buying from have given us the keys original.gif original.gif yay!
