Hi Ladies,

DH and I can not agree on ANY boys names...it is driving me crazy.....what do u think of our short lists? Our surname starts with H and has 3 syllables.

My list-

Ben
Daniel
Miles
Liam

DH's List-
Henry
Bill
Christopher
Hop

We already have a son called Matthew.

I like Miles and Liam. Not a big fan of your DH's names sorry!!!

Our name also has 3 syllables. So we kept our DS's name short.

I like Liam and Henry..as PP why not combine them or find a name that you both like??

Ben (my Dad's name)
Daniel (my Husbands name)
Luke (My 2nd Son's name - my other boy is Sean )

I think Luke & Daniel go well with the name Matthew.

I like Luke and Daniel best with Mathew. You could always use dh's names as a middle name.

Luke- like, I love Lucas though
Ben- like, but only as a nickname to Benjamin

Luke - fine
Ben - love as nickname to Benjamin. Not on its own though
Daniel - my favourite from all these names
Miles - fine
Liam - prefer as nickname to William
Lachlan - nice

Bill - only as nickname to William (you know, if you're really stuck you could always go with William and he call him Bill and you Liam!)
Christopher - fine but not something I'd pick, personally. Also probably a mouthful with your surname
Hop - This is a joke, right?

All in all, a fab list. The only one I'm not fond of is Hop. I dont really like Bill, but I do love William nn Billy, Liam or Will.

DS1 is Luke Matthew - gets my vote

Miles and Christopher get my vote

Lachlan gets my vote. I don't think it is overused at all, we only know of 1 other Lachlan around us, and to me that isn't too many at all.

Sorry but I have to disagree, Lachlan is VERY popular at the moment. If you look in the Top 10 Names of 2007 post (pinned at the top pf the Baby Names forum) the name Lachlan appears in the top 10 for every state in Australia.

I know heaps of Lachlans, all under the age of 5.

DH can be a bit of a sarcastic smart a@##....so he comes up with a weird name to stir me up.....he looked up our surname on the net and apparently....Hop H******* was an american cartoon superhero in the 1930's....and he thought that was cool....yeah right.....

Anyway it definitely won't be Hop.....still we r no closer to deciding....But keep the advice coming as we need all the help we can get.
