I think I was about 9 or 10 when my grandparents gave me the boxed set of "Little House" books, one of the best gifts I have ever received!
About a week ago, I dragged out the first one "Little House in the Big Woods" and have started it as bedtime reading for my 6yo son and 4yo daughter. My son in particular LOVES it! I think because Mary and Laura are similar ages, and they loves wondering how they made things, and all the chores the girls had to do....
Anyway, this is one of my greatest thrills so far as a parent, seeing one of my children genuinely sharing a love of mine. wub.gif
Captain Underpants is on the backburner, Laura Ingalls rocks!

I loved these books too. I have been looking for the boxed set and cannot find them anywhere. It is such a shame they are out of print.
Hopefully l will find them soon. I would love to read them to my daughters. grin.gif

Does anyone know where l could find the set? hands.gif

Thanks in advance

I'm addicted to these at the moment!

I found them on the book depository website for about $7 each, from memory. They were $13 each in the local bookstore.

Yep, here you go, the set is about half the way down the first page and this site has free delivery worldwide.

The Book Depository

I grew up with these books, and watching the series on TV. Incidentally, you can buy the DVDs of the TV series for a very reasonable price at Big W.

BobLobLaw, your son might be especially interested in Farmer Boy, which Laura wrote from her husband's recollections about his childhood.

Their daughter was also an author and wrote some books too.

I have just been to the States and bought 5 of them second hand for $11. I am about to read By The Shores Of Silver Lake. My 11ds loves the TV series too.
