Can someone please tell me where I can buy wool and
knitting needles southside? Pref. near Kambah. Also, I need
to get a frame/hoop for cross stitch....where would I get one of
those?

Thank you!
*Mands*
There is also a knitting / wool shop at Southlands (Mawson). Not sure of the name though - sorry.
Tinka
Thank you so much Sarah and *mands*.

I have called the Crafty Frog and they have the hoops/frames
so we will visit there this arvo. I bought a beautiful kit on ebay
a while back and I can't wait to start it. Ahhhhh memories of
high school T&D classes come rushing
back......EEERRRggggggh..........!

Then I can saunter on over to Mawson and buy me some
wool and needles and full instructions on how to knit cause I
can only do plain stitch at the moment! I'm going to make a
highly technical scarf cause I think that will be the limit of my
ability....this is assuming I can work out how to cast on. Then
it will be the world's longest scarf, and it will have a needle
permanently attached to one end, cause I dont know how to
cast off either ;p

Do I sound like the craftiest person you know? I am craving
some craft! I have even resorted to making random mosaic
tile patterns on the walls outside..........hopefully it will add to
the value of the house (after prospective buyers have done
handstands to work out what the pattern is supposed to be)...

Maybe I should just go back to work...cause I'm feeling
seriously looney today, and DD has not been able to help
with my questions about the Theory of Relativity.

Have a great afternoon everyone!!! blush.gif

There used to be a weekly knitting group meeting Tuesday mornings at Duffy primary school. Not sure if they are still going, but if you were interested this might be a good place to venture out into more challenging knitting than a scarf once you've got a long rectangle mastered.

I keep intending to go, but am not really relishing the thought of my DD and knitting needles together LOL.

Actually before I even think about knitting I should do the x-stitch that I started in 1995 and haven't made a huge amt of progress on!

Hi Steph,

Thanks for the info on the knitting group. It sounds very good.

The Crafty Frog had wool and needles as well as all the x
stitch stuff so I got a lovely ball of variegated acrylic and have
started my record breaking scarf. I got some quick
instructions from my MIL and have managed to cast on 26
stitches using one finger and one needle (is that legal? ;p )
and am now up to row 10 of my extraoridnary scarf. I am
doing plain stitch on one side and perl (sp?) on the other....I
am now ready to take on the WORLD! All is well until I get to
the end.......then I'm in trouble.

My cross-stitch will have to take a back seat for a little while
:-)....(read: until I drop a knitted stitch and can't pick it up
again).

Good Luck with your cross stitch Steph.
