Hi guys

I know I have left this very last minute but does anyone have any recommendations for a family of 3 (DS is just over 2 yrs old) not too far away from Nicholls and not too pricey? We would rather two bedrooms as DS is not used to sleeping in the same room as us. Space would be good. original.gif We do have a portacot to take with us.
We have stayed in a one bedroom at Gold Creek T/R a few yrs back and even though its location was good we weren't overly impressed with the dingy little room for what we paid.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Hi,

There isnt alot of accomodation close to gungahlin. I would recommend one of the bed and breakfast on federal highway at d*ckson or carotel motel www.carotel.com.au

Have you tried looking on Wotif.com
I dont have time to look now to narrow down where you want to stay but here in the Canberra link...
Good Luck...

Rydge's Eagle Hawk is not far from Gungahlin on the Ferderal Highway, don't know what it is like as I have never stayed there.

If you'd rather space than luxury, Rydges Eagle Hawk would be your best bet. But it's worth phoning the Visitor Information centre and asking if there are any good deals - we have visiting family who got a fantastic 2 bedroom last minute apartment deal original.gif.

Thanks guys. The Rydges Eagle Hawk looked really good but is booked out. sad.gif Looks like the Lakeside one is as well.
Kristen do you mind me asking where your family got there two bedroom at the last minutes? I seem to be lucking out. I will also ring the tourist information centre.

I have stayed at the Belconnen Motor Inn in and it was great as it had 2 rooms and was really cheap.

This is what I have found on Wotif.

On Wotif there is rooms at Rydges Eagle Hawk.

At Eagle Hawk there is also a caravan park that has cabins that are really nice as well. The Deluxe Cabins are 2 bedroom and self contained. Here is the link for them with the numbers to rind and price.

Thank you so much for your replies ladies.

Just quickly those who mentioned the Belconnen Motor Inn as being great accommodation are you referring to what is now called the Belconnen Way Motel & Serviced Apartments in Hawker or the Belconnen Premier Inn with the round glass building appearance (as this was not cheap lol)?

TIA

I was talking about this Belconnen Way Motel & Serviced Apartments in Hawker. When we stayed we had 2 seperate rooms and I think I paid $119 per night for it. It had in one room Shower, single bed and queen bed and the other room as adjoining and it has 2 single beds with the kitchenette. It was okay but a bit old but it was quite okay as the kids had a great time.

Here is the link to the room prices
