I have been referred to Dr Close in Deakin. Although we are not pregnant just yet, I was just wondering whether anyone knows if she delivers at John James, Calvary or both?
Also, would love to hear any feedback on her services and or John James/ Calvary?

Thanks

Dr Close delivers at both Calvary and JJ. She was my OB (gave birth in April 2004) because I was considered in the potentially 'high risk' category and she is the best at those pregnancies/births. Unfortunately I can't give you very positive feedback about her services as a doctor sad.gif I will pm you...

I saw Dr Susie Close for DS #2. I thought she was fantastic and have told other friends about her and they have had no complaints I found her to be very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, didn't make me feel rushed but then again I often had to wait while she was with other patients. At least I knew I would have her full attention when it was my turn LOL. I also felt very comfortable with her as she learnt under my first OB, Dr Bish Mukerjee. He retired after the birth of my first DS so he recommended I see Susie for birth number two as they share an office in the JJ specialist centre.

Susie certainly does deliver at JJMH. I don't honestly know if she delivers anywhere else. I think JJ is a fantastic hospital. It seemed more like a holiday than a hospital LOL. The midwives were great as was the food and I loved having a private room all to myself! None of my friends have had any complaints there either.

Three of my friends that saw Susie had high risks pregnancies and they were most pleased with the level of care from her and JJHM. I had fairly normal pregnancies and births and she was two minutes late when I delivered DS #2 as he was very quick LOL. I would go back to her if I needed an OB/GYN with no worries original.gif

One friend at playgroup is currently seeing Susie now and is due in October. I know she booked at 5 weeks and only just got it so it is probably a good idea to ring up now. I have also seen Susie for a GYN problem I have and I have no complaints in that department either.

Hope this helps.

I have heard excellent things about Susie from quite a few different people. We considered going private with her in 2004 when pregnant with Darcy. At that time she was delivering current babies at Calvery but she was not accepting anymore patients for that hospital. She was then going to deliver exclusively at JJMH. We decided not to bother and went public through TCH again.

I would check with her recpetionist but I think things would have changed since then.

Hi

I consider Susie to be an absolutely brilliant OB, and am totally convinced without her skill, attention to detail, knowledge and empathy, Jasper would be either dead or have been born extremely prematurely. I saw top OB's in Sydney, including Dr Pesce (OB rep for the AMA and the guy who is always quoted on Obstetric related matters), and no-one could better Susie.

Susie only delivers at JJMH, as her rooms are right next door, and she was finding it was affecting her appointments too much getting called out to Calvary to see patients.

If you have any questions , you can PM me as well. I put my life and my babies life in Susies hands, and would do so again.
