Hi there

DP & I have decided that I will name bubs if it's a girl and he will choose a boys name. We are going to tell each other our top 3 names just to make sure the other doesn't really dislike one of the name.

So my shortlist is currently 9 and I need to get it down to 3 before the weekend. PLEASE tell me your favorite 3 from this list. The middle name will be Daphne..

Piper Daphne
Maya Daphne
Bridie Daphne
Anabella Daphne
Lani/Lana/Elana Daphne
Elyssa Daphne
Brianna Daphne
Indigo Daphne (nn indi)

My other 2 children are Tahlia & Dallas.

Thanks in advance for your help.

ohhh this is hard. I like them all.
Lets say Indigo, piper and Anabella.
I like lana but I had a friend called Lana and she used to get called 'Anal' because that's what it spells backwards....

Lana Daphne
Annabella Daphne (spelled this way)
Elana Daphne
fifi-trixibelle
I like, in order:
1. Annabella Daphne- I only like this spelling. I would pronounce Anabella as Ar-na-bel-la not Ann-a-bel-la.
2. Maya Daphne- pronounced May-ah
3. Elana Daphne- I do prefer Alana/Alannah though

I love Bridie too but IMO it doesn't flow with Daphne.

My top 3 would be :

Anabella Daphne

Elyssa Daphne

Indigo Daphne (nn indi)

I LOVE the name Piper, so that is number one for me. then I guess Lana and Maya. I love the name Bridie, but I agree-it doesnt go well with Daphne. Good luck!!

In that order, or actually maybe Maya might be my fav.

2. Elana Daphne
3. Elyssa Daphne
4. Lana Daphne
5. Anabella Daphne

I think Indigo goes with your other children's names the best.

My top 3 would be:

Maya Daphne (pron Ma-ya, not May-a)
Elyssa Daphne
Annabella Daphne

I also like Alana, rather than Elana, with Lana or Lani as nn.

Bridie & Piper - IMO these are best suited as sibling's names to Tahlia and Dallas, as both have a similar Celtic feel iykwim. original.gif

Maya, Indigo - Both are great names, but IMO they don't have the same feel as your other kid's names, at all.

Anabella - As above lovely name, but I don't think it's the best match.

Brianna and Elyssa - Both names really suit Tahlia, but something doesn't fit quite right with "Dallas", for me.

Lani/Lana/Elana - TBH they're all too similar sounding to "Tahlia" for my liking (the long "ah" and "L" sound iywkim), and I'd especially avoid using "Lani" if your DD has the nn. Tahli iykwim. Also, "Lani" is such a laid-back Hawaiian sounding name, that IMO it doesn't compliment either of your kid's names.

In saying all that, you might not care if their names flow nicely or compliment each other, so feel free to ignore everything I've said! laugh.gif

*Definitely Piper as #1 for me. As i do think this name goes best with your other girls' names.

*2nd pick would be Lani (is that pronounced Lah-nee or Lane-ee ??). I like both.

*3rd pick is Maya (pronounced as spelt - May-ah).

All are lovely though .... would have to include Elyssa on my favourites too.

In order, my preference would be:

Maya Daphne
Piper Daphne
Lani/Lana/Elana Daphne (prefer Lani (pron. Lar-ni) or Elena - spelt with an 'e' rather than an 'a')

I'm not too crazy about Indigo, don't like Bridie, Elyssa or Anabella, and really dislike Brianna!

And I think Piper, Lana, Indi and Bridie sit best with your other children's names.
