Hello Everyone,

I am 7 1/2 weeks pregs with number 2 and struggling.. This time around I am suffering from headaches. I have been told that I am not allowed to take panadol. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? sad.gif

Why are you not allowed to take panadol It is safe during pregnancy? I know you can't take nurofen but hadn't heard about panadol. Try a hot shower.

Make sure you smile today,

I had bad headaches all through my second trimester. I took the occasional panadol (supposed to be OK?!), but mostly just drank lots of water and tried to get heaps of sleep.
I know that's not really helpful, maybe someone has a natural remedy?

You can definately take Panadol - my ob recommended it - you just can't take Nurofen or ibufron (sp?).

I am currently 35w pg and have taken panadol a few times during my pregnancy

See a good chiropractor and drink lots of water! Lots of headaches are because your spine's out of alignment - which happens lots when those pregnancy hormones start softening up the ligaments. My dh is a chiro and my pregnancies have been *really* good.

PM me if you want to chat about the chiros in your area.

Have you tried lavender oil? I was not into all the 'natural' stuff but my Aunty got me on to it to help me sleep, and it worked!!!! It is also good for headaches and obviously to relax. Just put it on your forehead, temples and across the back of your neck. It is great. My kids now call it 'Mummy's magic sleeping oil!!' The health shops have all different oils some more specifically for headaches but I have only dabbled with the lavender. Oh, it is also great in the bath!!

You can definately take panadol - and even panadine and panadine forte safetly without any harm!!!

I have chronic back pain and my obstrician told me that i can take panadol - 2 tablets every 4 hours, without a worry

Definately take at one panadol and see if it gets rid of it- you need to get rid of it and get some rest -

Also ive found lots of water helps before going t bed - feel better in the morning

Hope your feeling better

I would recommend speaking to your doctor about your specific circumstances before taking any drugs during pregnancy.
QUOTE
Panadeine may be used during pregnancy on the advice of a doctor. However, it is recommended that nondrug therapies (e.g. rest, massage) be tried first.
(from the MIMS drug guide)

Panadol, even when not pregnant, can be taken 4 hourly, to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours
