hi

since the clocks have changed back an hour i cant get DD 2 yrs to stay in bed in the morning.
she will get up between 5.30am and 6.
i find this time really hard as usually ive been up a few times or at least between 4 and 5am with DS 4 months,he goes back to sleep and then i get comfy just for dd to come in 30 mins later cry1.gif I hate getting up for the day this early.

any tips on getting her to sleep longer? im sooo tired

so far ive tried putting her to bed later at night, taking her back to bed in the morning, explaining night is for sleeping and she can get up whent he light comes in.
nothing works so far

Hi Rinnie

Does your DD have a blackout blind? if not maybe that would buy you a little more time in the mornings,
My DS2 is 3 and he has always been a early riser i leave a beaker of juice and 2 buscuits and a few books at the end of his bed on a table and i find this gives me a extra half hour before he comes in,

It must be hard with another LO but as your youngest sleeps through hopefuly you will be able to get more rest

I had a similar problem with my daughter when the clocks went back. I agree making the room darker can help but their body clocks are like ours and will probably wake up anyway. What I like to do is when I feed my son (6months) at around 4.30am - I go in and change her nappy (she is usually very sleepy at this time and rarely wakes up) and she wont be super wet and tends to sleep a little longer. I also make sure she has the blanket on her so she isn't cold.
Good luck.
