My doctor has know idea as to why I have these symptoms, so since my doc cant help me I thought I would ask on here.
I am getting really bad leg pain (aching), it starts from my hip all the way down to my feet. Its worse at night, gets to the point where I cannot sleep at all.
I also get arm pains, nausea and pelvic pain.
Anyone had this before? or know of any relief?

Try an alternate medical profession such as Chiro or get a second GP opinion.
Hope you get sleep soon. I have pulled a muscle and am getting really bad nerve pain atm and so I really understand. My chiro has been very good. ETA - not that I am suggesting that is what you have done, just empathising

what tests have been done have there been any ultrasounds SP?
done on it or CTG's as it could be a clot in your leg as you say it kills more when your trying to sleep i would as your gp if it could e a clot and to have it looked more.

Sounds like a back problem with sciatica. I too have had the severe leg pain (only one sided at any one time) and associated pins and needles down an arm. At the moment I am having trouble with my neck and have a pain behind my left shoulder blade which is not there much during the day but bad enough at night to wake me up every time I want to turn over. As a nurse/midwife of 20+ years I know I have a bad back and suspect a pinched nerve in there somewhere that will eventually right itself or I will resort to seeing a physio. Might be worth like PP said and see a physio or chiro (not a fan of these myself). Not sure about the suggestion of a blood clot - can't see it myself?

Sounds like sciatica to me, and also a fairly useless GP (sorry).
I would actually try an osteopath. I adore my osteo and she has assited me with so many aches, pains, strains, alignment issues etc.
My twin sister and I had been suffering from serious leg cramps in the actual bone of our shin since we were 2. Everyone (GP's, peads, ED) said "growing pains" - I see my osteo once about it - gone! Can't get better than that IMO

Honestly, I'd go and see another GP/medical professional as your current GP kinds sucks! Did he/she even ask you to describe the pain, because often muscular pain is described differently to joint aching/pain (and therefore a lot of reasons for your symptoms could then be excluded). There are a tonne of things it could be, and it may well be that your symptoms are not related to the same thing. Or they could be.
Gosh, that was so unhelpful, wasn't it

Sorry, but I hope that another medico would be able to set you on the way to getting whtever it is causing you pain treated. Pain at night which effects sleep must be horrible

I am having blood tests tomorrow to see if its related to anything that way.
If nothing comes from that, my alternate is getting a 2nd opinion, and also seeing a chiropractor.
Anyone know a good doctor that actually cares? My doctor seems to always fob off anything that I have wrong with me, unless she can see something, then she thinks there is nothing wrong.

I also agree the Dr Watson at Gungahlin is great. If you can't get in to see him the other doctor up there is John Deery and he is great as well. We have changed doctors and they have been great.

I am in Queanbeyan, but my current doctor is in wanniassa, (she has been our doctor for many years), but she doesnt seem to care anymore.
I really need to find a good family doctor.

I'm married to a chiro so only see a GP once every 12 months or so for a "female" check-up, but my GP is just lovely - Dr Viketos in Palmerston.

I never feel rushed

. When we did have a problem and needed some blood tests and a reasonable amount of liaison with the hospital she was great, and didn't mind at all that we tend to be a bit "alternative".

If you're getting pain in both arms and both legs, it's likely to be something systemic rather than sciatica. If it's a different pain in the arms, and not both legs, it's likely to be a nerve blockage.
Either way, a good chiro or osteo should be able to give you a better idea

.

Another one here who thinks it sounds like sciatica.

I don't think it is sciatic pain alone... there may be sciatica going on in your legs/ pelvis, but not in your arms. The sciatic nerve is linked to your lower body. And the sciatic pain I've ever had was sharp, intense and relieved by changing position, or resting (or having the baby!)
http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/b...ca?OpenDocumentAlso, 'aching' and nausea is not a usually sciatica symptom, though it could be associated with many, many other things (cold/ flu, pregnancy, hormones, virus, related to something you ate or drank, medication, spider or insect bites, or even something in your environment etc.)
Aching muscles/ joints and body, as well as nausea are more commonly linked to a flu or viral illness coming on, as you are no doubt aware. If you don't feel like you are getting the flu in other ways, it could be a different virus (there are plenty of mysterious ones, and some more common ones too). As everyone has said, see a GP and await blood test results. You In the mean time, follow the usual protocol for treating a flu... fluids, rest, pain relief and see doctor if symptoms persist.
There are possibly many other reasons for your symptoms too.. Hope you get some answers and are feeling better soon...

I'd be finding another doctor who can do more testing.

I'd be trying more testing as well - my mother had severe cramping and pains and swelling in her wrists and arms which went on for a few months. After a LOT of testing (and lots of physio etc) it turned out that she had Ross River fever which was contracted by a mozzie bite.
It took her going to a new doctor in the next town over (not a lot of choice of different doctors in small towns) to find one who was willing to try different tests (her doctor actually said that it was all in her head?!?!?!?).
Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon.

why do doctors, always think its in your head, that nothing is wrong.
Wow, I wouldnt pay $60 a pop to go and see a GP if I was acting and I wasnt actually in pain.

His wife works over at the Kaleen Medical centre and is great.
Jet07: Dr. Watson is at Gungahlin Medical centre, not the on the corner but down further.
I go to Dr. watson generally for kiddie issues and Dr. Pareera for myself.
I hope everything is ok
I was literally just last week diagnosed with 2 blood clots as I was having severe cramping and aching in my leg, the clots were found via an ultrasound...
I agree, get a second opinion

Have you done anything new or anything out of the ordinary lately?????? Such as heavy lifting, involving awkward movement or excercise that you wouldn't ordinarily have done??
One of the ladies I work with joined a gym a while back & a few days after starting her excercise programe she started getting sharp nasty chest pain. She went to her GP & they ended up doing an emergency ECG & found nothing. It turned out that she had pulled a muscle in her chest on the treadmill

which is what had caused the pain. Sometimes new programs take a while to get used to!
If it doesn't clear up in the next fortnight, perhaps see another GP & have a talk to them. Maybe ask the GP whether they think a few trips to a Physio might help.

The best Doctors that I know in Queanbeyan are at the Brindabella Family Practice, I would not waste my time with any of the other clinics In Qbn. They have a number of Doctors and the ones I would give preference to are David Poland, David Yates, Joanne Baxter or Charles Sleiman, not keen on some of the others. If you prefer a female Dr, Joanne is lovely & will take the time to go through your problem. Appts are relatively easy to get. But if you get an appt with Joanne you may have to wait a while as she can take a while with patients.
