A close friend has just fallen pregnant with twins and will have a 2.5 year old when they are born.

We are wanting to buy them something as a congratulations present so was wondering what items you found to be the most useful?

They have a 2 storey townhouse so don't have heaps of space.

I would have gone mad without rockers LOL.

Not multiple specific, but we were given two pram bags and they were fantastic! They go from pram to car seat as they have holes for the harnesses in the back. Great for catching socks, shoes and miscellaneous items dropped out of prams too wink.gif . They are polar fleece and they wash brilliantly.

I second the rockers. Couldn't do without them.

How about a box of nappies. Not very creative I know, but they are definitely going to want to stock up!! biggrin.gif

You could try the website called twinsane.com (think that's the address). Lots of gift ideas for twins on there and it is an Australian site.

Good luck. biggrin.gif

I was going to say rockers too! laughing2.gif

Ours vibrated and massaged and played music and sound and I just loved them!!!

I lovely my baby swing/rocker for my twins. It was like having an extra pair of hands when I was on my own of a day. It would have been difficult without it.

Hello,
2 x rockers are a must, well they were for me. Also an electric swing. These are the three things that I could not have done without.

Thanks girls.

We are lending them our electric swing and they have a rocker from their oldest.

Do you think between the swing and rocker that would be fine, or would they need two rockers?

Like I said, they don't have a lot of space and my friend hates clutter. I want to get them something useful without taking over their house (though with 3 kids in there, it is already going to happen!)

With a swing and a rocker they should be okay, so I'll say boring yet practical nappies!

Not very exciting but if they have a big bath what about two lay down bath seats. My DD was 2.5 when my twins were born and we use to put the twins in their bath seats in the big bath together and Lil would help me bath them. Filled in time if the girls were grissly. We were still using the seats until last week and they are almost 7 months.

Would definately second the bath seats - this was our saviour - when they were very little we could use this in the laundry sink and then moved them both into the big bath

The things that save my sanity were really great stretchy waffle weave wraps. Firmly wrapped babies settle better!!!
I second the rockers and when they were older a jolly jumper and an exosaucer so that both were being entertained!!
Many multiple mums swear by a double feeding pillow like the ez2 nurse and a big nappy bag is an absolute must!!!

Check out Think Twins they have an awesome range of just about everything you could need with twins!!

Hi,

My Ergo baby carrier is the best thing ever!!! My twins are now 10 months and I can put one baby on my back and carry the other in my arms. It is the best thing ever! Highly recomeend it! And I can use it for my 2 1/2 year old DS as well!! Not good for newborns but they grow really quick! I can do supermarket shopping with one twin on my back one is trolley seat and DS in trolley..

Cheers

Whenever I chat to someone who's expecting Twins I always tell them to invest in a good baby carrier.

Great for times you just wanna duck into the shops and zip around and not be stopped by everyone and of course it was great for bubba bonding early on and going for strolls around the neighbourhood, or wearing one each around the house whilst we did the housework .... our list could go on for ever!!

Oh and someone handmade us some huge flannellette wraps that we use as little lap blankies 3 years on ... they were very useful and much appreciated gift.

Don't buy clothes!! Even with people buying larger sizes we still ended up with way too many clothes that sat in the cupboard still with tags on ... I ended up donating them to a mums club.

I always wished people had taken my suggestion of buying nappies and napisan seriously, not sure why no one ever did huh.gif

I vote rockers as well.. I have 2 musical (eegh.. why are the tunes so damn annoying???) vibrating rockers and a swing... all 3 have been essential

Oh and more recenty, my tunnel playmat... need to have room for two, and the tunnel thing works great... just shove one in each end!

Oh and love my latest aquisition, the foam alphabet puzzle floor mat.. easy to wipe up spew and other messes, very versatile, fits all sorts of floor spaces, great for nappy changes - i got paranoid using the change table because of how easy it is for the other twin to distract you, so i change my boys on the floor

I would agree with the bath seats. We had 2 moulded bath seats for newborns and they were fab. Both babies could be bathed together with out needing to hold them. Just imagine 10mins when you have both hands free and can have a cuppa - bliss! The babies loved them too. And when they were older we moved them to the bath seats that they can sit up in, but still supported. They were fab too.

Mind you, our rockers were essential kit too!

I didn't have rockers and can't say I missed them. Although if I did have them, I may be saying the opposite. What we used were their carseats. We used capsules for the first 6 months but their carseats were in a box in the garage until they needed. One day I pulled them out put them in the recline position and it was stable on the floor. We used them alot and it wasn't an extra expense.

We had an electric swing but both of mine have reflux and hated it.

I vote for a baby carrier too. I still use ours almost every day. We have a baba sling so when they were little I used to sling them in front, but now I sling them to my hip. The hip is easier than in front which is tough on your back.

My boys are 4 months old and we would have gone bonkers without their slings. we bought "bubba moe" slings and have taken them to the shops in the slings, to the park in the slings...they're amazing. very comfy and it minimising the amount of "oohhhhhhhhhhhhhh twins....." so you can actually get your shopping done!

hope this helps!

Rockers for us, nappies would have also been a very practical gift as you go through so many, the moulded bath seats too were a godsend!

Most useless for me was the sling blush.gif
