Hi everyone

Thanks for all your responses so far - yes, thinking that maybe James isn't such a good idea with it being Archie's middle name too:

Boys - now also considering Alfie and Oscar, as well as Henry. Wonder if Oscar is a bit much with Ch---er as a surname. I still like Toby too but DH not so keen on it as me.

Girls - Lucy seems to be our current favourite but still not discounting the other names. Do quite like the suggestion of April too. On middle names with Lucy was wondering what would go best, or any other suggestions: (Millie's middle name is Elisabeth).

Lucy Beatrice Ch---er
Lucy Alice Ch
Lucy India Ch
Lucy Isabella Ch
Lucy Annelise Ch
Lucy April Ch
Lucy Zara Ch

Just a quick update on where I am currently at on the name thing for our 3rd child.

Boys
Henry or
James (my kids want to call the baby James if it is a boy, but it is my DS's middle name)

Girls
Alice
Lucy
Zara
I still like India but am not as sure on it now as the others.

Any opinions on these names appreciated, as always.

I LOVE James! It sounds fab with your other kids names, I do also like Henry, but I dont think it sounds as nice with your kids names as James! (I wouldn't worry about it being your DS mn too! It will be a nice bond between them!)

I LOVE Lucy (no pun intended wink.gif ) but I think that the ending sounds too similar to Millie and that irks me a little bit! I'm not a huge fan of Alice, although it is a nice name. Zara and India are not, my cup of tea. In saying that, however; I do LOVE Sara! I really like Archie, Millie and Sara!

Good luck choosing!

From your boy's names I prefer James but I definitely would not use it seeing as you have already used it as your son's middle name. I also think Henry is a better match will Archie and Millie.

From your girl's names my favourite is definitely Zara. I love Lucy too but prefer it as a nickname to Lucia, Lucille, Luciana or Lucinda. Alice is ok too but I dislike India.

So I vote for Zara and Henry.

Wow India is great...

I'm generally against naming children after countries...mostly coz then everyone in their school will make silly jokes about them when they're learning about Geography..

However...India is similar to Indiana which I think is a fantastic name for a girl...

Out of the names you provided India, then Zara are my favourite girls names and Henry is my favourite boy's name, especially since James is one of your other boy's middle names.

I love Henry & Alice - really cute

Mel,

I'm dying to know which name you will eventually use! grin.gif When is your baby due?

OK, girl's names -

Alice - my second choice, lovely with Millie, but it is a bit ummm, ordinary, with no offence to any Alices or mums of Alices
Lucy - my third choice, but is a bit too popular...
Zara - 4th choice. It just isn't as nice as Millie. Why do I think of horses when I hear this name? Some weird association of mine! blush.gif
India - still my no 1 choice. And I think it is the best match with Archie and Millie

Have you considered April? original.gif

Boy's names -

James - this is a lovely classic name. Jamie sits well with Archie too. What lovely names for brothers. I see no problem with using it again - it just becomes a 'family name' original.gif
Henry - this is fine, but in comparison to James it is a bit grandpa-ish

My friends baby is Lucy Zara original.gif

I prefer James but wouldn't use it as it's your DS middle name...

So Henry and Lucy.

Zara and Henry get my vote original.gif

I know you've got a shortlist, but every time I see this title I think Oscar would sound great!

From your names, I'd pick Henry or Zara.

As you may remember, we also have a Millie & Archie (Amelia & Archer). If we had another Girl or Boy, then their names would be:
Henry James or
Hugh Benjamin

and

Lucinda Kate (Lulu/Lucy) or
Imogen Kate

Goodluck deciding - looking forward to hearing your choice for your 3rd - maybe we'll have all 3 the same name ... he he x

I love Henry and Lucy... wub.gif

I can't use either as our surname ends in y and it sounds dodgy.

I think we have similar tastes for names laughing2.gif

Henry and Alice.

They are all great, though (apart from India but I've said that before... blush.gif ) It would be hard to go wrong.
