Hi Everyone,

With nearly 3 weeks to go, I honestly never thought I'd be this stuck for names!! I'm quite embarrassed actually....

This is our short list (well mine actually, DH isn't thrilled with any of them - but then again, he hasn't come up with a single idea himself.....)

Ok, here goes: Please let me know your thoughts..

Georgia
Allegra
Cassidy
Meaghan
Xanthia
Chelsea
Ravenne
Scarlet

Thanks everyone!!!

Allegra- dislike
Cassidy- ok
Meaghan- dislike but prefer the spelling Megan
Xanthia- like
Chelsea- ok
Ravenne- dislike
Scarlet- love but prefer the spelling Scarlett

My pick would be Scarlett with Georgia being a very close second.

a few of these names are on our list and will give you my honest opinion of them

I am having so much trouble girls names are so hard - boys are much easier!!!

Georgia - nice but alot of them around
Allegra - not totally sold, this is one of dh's names
Cassidy - love love love love love
Meaghan - cute
Xanthia - great name and unusual
Chelsea - lovely aswell
Ravenne - nice
Scarlet - love

Cassidy and scarlet are my faves but cassidy is number 1 and scarlet 2 I think

I hope this helps a little

I like, in order:
Georgia - Very sweet, but it is very popular atm
Xanthia - Spunky and sweet, I do prefer Xanthe though!
Chelsea - Nice, but plain. Also popular
Scarlett - I like this, it is different, but not to out there
Megan (prefer this sp) - I have a soft spot for this name, although it is dated. I prefer Meggan (prn Meg-gan, as opposed to Mee-gan)
Allegra - Not a huge fan.
Ravenne - Dislike. I'm not sure how to prn it. Rav-een, Rav-en?

Georgia - too popular
Allegra - exquisite name with Ally for nn, wub.gif means 'lively' in Italian
Cassidy - dislike unisex names
Meaghan- dated
Xanthia - OK, but prefer Xanthe
Chelsea - dated
Ravenne - dislike names that are tricky to pronounce
Scarlet - gorgeous name, but prefer Scarlett. Quite like Letty for nn (well more than Scar tongue.gif )

M.
cryptic
Georgia - OK but very popular at the moment
Allegra - NMS
Cassidy - NMS
Meaghan - like but prefer it spelt Megan
Xanthia - OK
Chelsea - like
Ravenne - don't like
Scarlet - like but prefer it spelt Scarlett

So my picks would be Chelsea, Scarlett or Megan.

I think Xanthia is the nicest but as others have suggested I prefer Xanthe.

Good luck!

My pick would be Scarlett (spelt like this).

I also like Megan (spelt like this), with pron Meg-an rather than Mee-gan. Xanthe is nice too (don't like Xanthia).

I don't know how you'd pronounce Ravenne - my guess would be ra-venn, with emphasis on the venn. I think it's awful.
cluckychick
I wub.gif Xanthia or Cassidy both really sweet and a bit different!
Benevolence
Good list. Goodness me youv'e left it late!

Georgia - too popular
Allegra - my favourite
Cassidy - reminds me of David Cassidy and the Partridge Family
Meaghan - Like, perhaps a bit dated
Xanthia - Love
Chelsea - too American
Ravenne - too harsh
Scarlet - lovely but prefer alternate spelling.

Good luck

Hey- thanks everyone so much for your replies!!! I feel such a responsibility in naming this baby, i'm not sure why I feel I have to get it exactly right - probably because I'm sure this will be our last child. I know I'm leaving it till late - until a couple of weeks ago it was Cassidy or Chelsea definately. Then DH quite calmly said he really disliked them. However, the choice doesn't lie solely with him!! We had a deal that I name the girls and he names the boys original.gif. We also have this funny little family tradition that we name our girls with 7 letters in their names, me, my sister, mum and nanna are all 7 letters with no middle names. Hence my more padded out version of Meaghan!!!

We have a Jacinta and Daniel and soon to be....

My little girl just told me we can't have Georgie because that's the parrot in the pet shop at Chirnside Park but Georgia would be ok. Maybe I leave the ultimate decision up to her!!!

I really appreciate the time you girls have spend looking over my names.

I've told my DH the more he sits on the fence the likelyhood of this little girl being called RAINBOW is increasing by the minute!!!
Jen1
You have made a great choice with your dd being named Jacinta as my dd is Jacinta too. grin.gif

I love the names Chelsea and Scarlet.

Goodluck in deciding. biggrin.gif
