--hola--
Hi all,
It's been a while since I posted here! DH is being a real pain when it comes to naming this little bub! He no longer likes Clara and is continually changing his mind about boys names! rant.gif

Here is a list of names that we semi agree on. Any suggestions or comments are welcome. The only thing that bothers we is that our last name is a 8 letter name beginning with a 'J' - do you think having a first name beginning with the same letter as a first name is ok?

Middle names will either be Elizabeth, Clare or Philippa or Alexander, James or Phillip.

Emma/Emily
Lucy
Madeleine
Lila
Sarah
Phoebe

Daniel
Jesse
Riley
Jordan
Brody
Zachary
Joah

TIA (any suggestions greatly appreciated!)

I love Madeleine, Lila, Emily and Lucy. Will you shorten Madeleine to Maddie- i wouldnt i think it is lovely longer. I think Madeleine elizabeth sounds wonderful together. As does Emily Clare. I also like Clare spelled Claire too.

Not a fan of philip or phillipa sorry.

For boys I like Riley Alexander. I wouldnt do a JJ name unless you wanted to have that as a nn. Could also do Brody to have bj as a nn too.

I have always had to spell my name so i like that you have gone with names that are not in the top 10 but are still not hard to spell!
Good luck with it all!

I asked DP for a male perspective too.
For a girl, we both liked Sarah or Emily Clare.
For a boy, we liked Riley Alexander or Zachary James.
If only it had been this easy to pick DD's name! laughing2.gif

Wow, your list looks a lot like mine, and we are still having problems agreeing as well! rolleyes.gif

I really like Lila as a first name (although I was reading a forum the other day that said people could probably call her "Lee-La" which I don't like instead of "Lie-La"). I hope to call my little one Lila Mae (pending DH's opinion). biggrin.gif

Out of your boys I like Daniel James - a classic, strong, masculine name!

Good luck, choosing names is hard work!

Lila Claire is so pretty.
What about spelling it Lyla.

All the boys names I like except Joah.

Oh Hola! I've been looking forward to your little Clara (maybe) being born - it's one of my favourite names!

hands.gif that your DH comes around, but otherwise here are my 2c:

Emma/Emily - I love Emily, Emma is gorgeous too
Lucy - wub.gif
Madeleine - nice, but I don't like Maddy
Lila - very pretty, I would definitely pronounce it Lie-la (but hey, I thought the character in Lilo & Stitch was pronounced Lie-lo, like the inflatable bed unsure.gif )
Sarah - I always thought this was boring because it was so common, but I suppose it isn't anymore.
Phoebe - gorgeous, I have a niece Phoebe Elizabeth.

Ok I didn't like any of your boy names except Daniel, which I love, especially with James or Alexander.

Good luck! original.gif

I like pretty much all your girls' names (and I miss Clara!). Lucy is by far my favourite. I like it either as a stand-alone name or as a nickname for Lucinda, which I love.

Of your boys' names I really only like Daniel (which I love) and maybe Zachary. Riley, Brody, Jordan are all a bit surnamey, trendy and effete. I know Jesse is a legitimate name but I just can't take it seriously. Joah I must confess I'm not familiar with and I'm not sure I like it. Joachim, Joseph or Noah would be great though.

ETA - I like all your middle names. My picks (dependent on surname) would be Lucy Philippa or Lucy Elizabeth, and Daniel Philip or Daniel James.

Emma/Emily- love Emily, not as keen on Emma
Lucy wub.gif

Daniel - not keen on
Jesse - dogs name to me
Riley - NMS
Jordan - dont like
Brody - not bad
Zachary - like
Joah - NMS

but love Alexander & James!!! Not keen on Phillip or Phillipa...

HTH, Good luck!
