I'm very puzzled by Spotlight Queanbeyan's latest sale advert on TV - they're calling it their Grand Opening Sale. Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't they been there for YEARS???

So what's the story?

Cheers,
Helen.

Helen, I was asking that same question.

Thanks

I think it might be a reopening sale?

Went in there on the weekend and everything has changed... Looks more impressive.

Perhaps it has something to do with that. Changed ownership maybe...

Yes they have been there for years. I actually thought they had moved but I went last night to see and they have just finished refurbishing it. It looks quite good now not the junk heap it used to look like. Very easy to find what your looking for and lots of good bargains until Sunday....

Make sure you smile today,
Natalie

they have cleaned up the store, lots of new shelving &
everyting is sectioned off & just thrown everywhere like it was
previosly, lot more easier to find stuff & more improved
checkouts at the front, I went in a week ago on a sunday &
did not have to wait fo ever to pay.

Wow sounds like it might be worth actually bothering to drive over there.

The other thing that irritates me about Spotlight and Home Yardage (before its demise) is that since they started selling a heap of other extraneous junk (for "real" sewing ppl that is) such as manchester and candles, pot pourri, homewares etc it has begun to take over the store meaning all the "real" sewing stuff (for want of a better term, I'm not trying to offend anyone) was squished in to smaller and smaller space and the range started shrinking...

Not that I should complain I have too much fabric here already and have done zero sewing since DD was about 6m old!

I was last there during their renovations and OMG it was a nightmare! I onlyhope they continue to stock all the sewing bits and pieces now that Lincraft is - well - y'know c*r*a*p

LOL we were wondering the same thing last night.
Nice to know we weren't the only ones going crazy!
Sounds like the opening sale might have something to do with the refurbishment. Bout time I say!
I love Spotlight, but it was a bit of a shamozel.

Just a little vent about Spotlight's Grand Opening sale...
This morning, they had NO EFTPOS/Credit working today so Credit was done manually (on some counters only ) and this wasn't advised to people until they got to the counter, too bad if you had waited to use EFTPOS.
I spent 43 minutes in the queue to pay for three things. I had two ratty kids (my fault) but could not believe how slow they were going.
And then they girl asks how my day is going....geez.
And, they didn't even have any left of the thing I actually went for...aaaggghhh!

OMG - exactly what i came in here to vent about! i'm SOOOOO annoyed with them. the only good thing is that we were there by 10am to get a park, it was a nightmare by 11am when we left...
