Hi all,
I really love the name Maia Isobelle (spelled this way only) but am having second thoughts as I know someone named Maia, she is a lovely person, but feel it would be weird.

I cannot think of any other names I like just as much. So does anyone have any suggestions? I also like the name Siarah (see-ar-ah) not sure if DF does or not.

all suggestions would be great

TIA

Is Maia being pronounced as My-ah or May-ah? I only like it pronounced May-ah and spelt Maya. I also prefer Isabelle. I don't like Siarah at all. IMO it sounds made up.

Suggestions:
Sierra
Sienna
Sara
Belu
If you're having second thoughts, then i wouldn't do it. I also wouldn't name my DD the same as someone i knew unless it was intentional and i was doing it because of them, iykwim.
Hmmm suggestions...
Siarah is also nms, so i'm thinking anything i come up with will be not your style cool.gif
I'll give it a go anyway.
Sienna
Aliya
Amara
Emilia
Taya
Kira

Sorry, not much help.

How about just change it a little? like instead of Maia maybe Amaia? Or maybe even May/Mae? Or maybe Taia, Faia, Raia, Laia (Leia?) I don't know if these are the correct spellings, just trying not to alter the name too much.
Hmm if you love the name & the person you know is nice, then why not just keep it? When I was preg with DD1 one of the names loved was Maeva, which is similar sounding to Maia, you may not like it though.
Thats my 2 cents!

I probably wouldn't use it due to the friend.I'm not a fan of Siarah either.I like Isobelle so i would change the 1wt name.

Here are some other names:
Alexia
Leila
Maida
Talia
Alessia
Sofia

How close a friend is she? I don't think it should be enough to stop you, there are lots and lots of Lily, Isabelle, Joshua, etc children out there who know other children by the same names. Having the name of an adult friend makes it a lot easier to differentiate between the two - Baby Maia and Adult Maia.

Cheers, Cass
