I'm not too keen on it sorry. I don't mind Indiana and Indigo with nickname Indi though.

I strongly dislike it. It's 'trendy', it's culturally offensive, and it sounds like a bogan just trying to get the nickname Indi "cos it sounds sooooo cuuuute".
Your other kids' names are great but I don't think it's a good match. Are you English by chance?

I love your other kids' names but not really fussed on India. I prefer names where the child can do anything with it. For example, I can't really see a foreign affairs minister or a multi-national CEO being called "India". An actor or artist - yes!

I think it is a lovely name and much better sounding than Indiana.
I have no idea how someone could think it is "culturally offensive"? That makes no sense at all! It is not bogan either!

One of my dearest friends from high school is named India. She absolutely loves her name and always had lots of lovely compliments about it. For her it was actually a family name as her grandmother is named India as is her aunt. I think her great-grandparents must have been WAY ahead of their time.
I think it's getting a bit too common now though.

It's not one of my favourites.

I think its a lovely sounding name however I couldn't use it. I much prefer more traditional names. However India is still a lovely name

I don't like it very much. I am not a fan of place names. I vastly prefer it to Indianna though.
What about Indira or Indra?

It's culturally offensive because it was first used as a name in England by the upper-class as an "exotic" name during the colonisation of India. So it's basically a throwback to British Imperialism.

I love it as a name but I would feel inappropriate using it. Maybe a MN.

'Indah' means beautiful in the national language of Indonesia. I remember that one from my school days, when I named my fish 'Indah'

I'm not a big fan of India or Indianna, but think Indira is lovely.

I don't like it simply because to me it is like calling your daughter America, China etc.
I must be one of those bogans just trying to get the nickname Indi "cos it sounds sooooo cuuuute" though, because I named my daughter Indigo.
I think with a gorgeous name like Jemima, you need a name like Matilda or Ivy.

I like Indigo or Indira, I think India would be cute while she was a child but not so nice as an adult.

so it can't just be after the country then?
I think alot of names may have had iffy beginnings but we need to remember that languages and meanings evolve and what they used to mean is not what they may imply now... i mean, i'm sure Gay(e) was a lovely name once!

Agreed. It always makes me think of India Wilkes in Gone With The Wind, which I love, so that makes it a teensy bit better. Indianna is just awful, especially with the incorrect spelling.
Indira is nice.
