Hi Karen,

ahah I was waiting for you to pick up on my scrapbooking post wink.gif

Someone kindly shared their work with me yesterday and it was just amazing. I had heard about it before and had seen bits but never a whole album. It really got me interested. Only problem is having no clue where to start.

I actually mentioned to Dh tonight, while we where out shopping, that I was thinking about trying it and he said he had heard that there was going to be a beginers course on at the weekend to raise money for SIDS.

Bless him he came home and found me the page but I am so unsure. Do you think that this is a good way/place to start or am I going to be WAY out of my depth?

I would really like to go but, as stupid as it might sound to some, I am so nervouse. I use to have all the confidence in the world but since having the little ones and being a SAHM I really seem to of lost alot when it comes to trying something new blush.gif

Thanks for thinking of me original.gif
cheers
Alexandra

Karen just looked at the registration form and it says RSVP by the 10th of June sad.gif Do you know if they are still accepting enrolments?

I was getting really excited and even found some poor sucker to rope in too Tounge1.gif

I will give them a ring tommorow original.gif

fingers crossed
Lolabyte
Ermm poor sucker? I think not young lady ;p

I prefer to think of myself as an upwardly mobile, stay at home (well stuck at home without the car), brain might be on a holiday, might be game to jump into the scrapbooking obsession wondermum, thanks very much.

They better be still accepting registrations, I'm all excited now.

Please be gentle with me, I've never scrapped before ;P

Cheers,

Nicola

I agree Nicola, there is nothing "poor sucker"-ish about scrapping, you will become addicted and wonder how you survived without boxes of yummy paper and stickers and trims....and be wondering when you will ever get the time to finish all your planned pages!

At the moment I'm wondering exactly how many boxes I will need to pack all mine!

not sure if you saw my message alex but i'm pretty sure you could all just turn up tomorrow and they'd be fine. when we booked in the other day it was no problem. Just say you're at my table and we can all sit together original.gif

once we move i might have to host regular crops at our new (BIG!!) house Tounge1.gif
brazen
PS: if you do all decide to come i'd recommend bringing whatever you have of the following:
paper scissors
glue stick such as Pritt etc
photo tabs or corners
craft mat
craft knife / steel ruler
sewing bits and pieces
acrylic paints and brushes
any other bits and pieces

don't forget photos! LOL (dont' bring your most precious)

Erm no emmah, I mean't "poor sucker" being stuck with me for a day, but then im sure by now Nicola understands my sense of humour lol Tounge1.gif

THANKYOU for the tips Karen. We went to Tuggeranong today and I popped into the arts store, just to get abit of a feel. OMG I never realised there was SO much stuff, just a little daunting!! original.gif

Seeyou all tommorow original.gif

cheers

i LOVE the art store! in fact I have to ban myself from going in there as I love it too much blush.gif
Lolabyte
Aww now you know I'm looking forward to spending the day with you Alex, you just better not pick up this scrapping thing faster than me Tounge1.gif

Actually it will be a bit strange having a conversation without wondering what the kids are getting up to in the other room. (Bella is wondering when Quinn is coming back to help her climb Mount Changetable again).

We went out to Spotlight the other day and there are just shelves filled with scrapping stuff and I can't wait to learn how to use some of them. I can see my spare room turning into a scrapping den already..lol

Can't wait to see some of your work close up Karen, the online pics I've seen look amazing. How long have you been doing it now if you don't mind me asking?

See you all in the morning

Cheers,

Nicola

Damn, I just saw this thread!

I've been meaning to go to a beginners scrapping thing but with work and study and 14mo and pregnancy it just never happens!

Any recommendations for the Woden/Weston area?
Dino-Mite
Emma, there is a place at Queanbeyan. If you find another, let me know; I might join you up until we leave for Darwin.

Thanks

Heya,

Thanks to girls for letting us know about this, what a great day I had. I'm still buzzing, don't know if that is the excitement of finally getting started or the yummy lollies original.gif

Just lucky there's no scrapbooking shops open right now or my VISA would be groaning. Oh well there's always Monday wink.gif

Was great to have a chance to meet you girls and thanks for your generousity of spirit and supplies to the Newbies.

Cheers,

Nicola

what do you mean no scrapping stores open now?

for starters try www.bluebazaar.com.au then follow it up with www.karensscrappin.com.au and then maybe a bit of www.thescrapheap.com.au to finish with. plenty more where those came from too wink.gif
Lolabyte
Oh Karen,

That's just evil that is...lol

I can't start looking at all these lovely bits and pieces until I've got my album, cropper and sticky things for my photos. Oh and then there's the punches, buttons, cutters...oooh I need to stop now, the room is swirling original.gif

Thanks for the links though, know where I'll be turning on payday.
Loganberri

There is a local online scrapbooking business called sizzorscraps that runs from Gunghalin. Prices are very reasonable. I know she has The Wiggles papers so I can't wait to order and buy some. She is very reasonable priced and will match other prices, plus being local I always arrange to pick up rather than have it posted.

Can't believe I missed this! Oh well, if anyone is organising another Scrap day, I would be interested in joining in!
