I like the name, are you thinking of using it for a boy or girl? Originally (from what I googled)

it is a boy's name, but I do know of 1 little girl called Skylar.

I like it. It was the name of Minnie Driver's character in Good Will Hunting.
Michael J Fox has a daughter called Schuyler - not sure if that is pronounced "skylar" or "Shylar" - could be either.

I like it.
I know of a girl and a boy with the name.
I much prefer it for a girl, it is a girly name.
I would not use it for a boy at all, I was quite shocked when I heard the boy mum call his name.

I like it for a girl only with the nickname Sky. I only like it spelt Skylar though, not Skyla, Skyler or Schuyler.

That is the name i picked for DD but DP didn't like it. We compromised and just named her Skye.
I love it, think it is a great name for a girl.

Love it! I have taught a Skylar (girl). Definitely not bogan. It's not madeup, it's a very old name -and features in a Shakespearean work!

Little girl at playgroup is Skylar. She is the cutest little girl, red hair with lots of cute curls ... so adorable.

That's where I had heard it before! I was racking my brain trying to think

Sorry Donna, I agree with your DH, I'm not a fan at all, probably because of that South Park episode
