mr brazen
boo! it's actually not mr brazen (i'm on his puter while he fixes mine\0 but i thought it might get more attention this way as my question got skipped in teh last thread laughing2.gif

Fi & trace, are either J or M interested in doing the boags tour with g?

also, do we have any set plans yet? i discovered that a close online friend who i thought lived in hobart actually lives in launceston so i want to try to make a time to catch up with her but don't want to miss any of our excitement lol
TreeHugger
Karen, I got all stressed out when I saw mr brazen typing!
Murray will have the girls with him on the Saturday as that's my day with all of you and they don't allow kids in the brewery otherwise he'd go.
Demon Deeva
Sorry, Geoff/Greg (have you decided who you're bringing yet?) J is in the same boat as Murray, he'll be having the girls on Saturday as plans are underway for us girls to have a day of decadence in Launceston before the party - your friend is welcome to join us if she'd like!

Thus far this os my Saturday proposal:

Morning,
Pick up bestie, drive to Devonport
Arrive at International EB'ers hideaway
Hustle said EB'ers into cars to come to Launceston OR
Poke tongue out and continue driving
Drive to Launceston, collect another friend,
Drive to Mud Club or Beauty Plus for mani/pedi
Head out for lunch and abyssmal shopping experience
Head back to Devonport stopping at Ashgrove cheese for tasting and Anvers truffles for tasting
Arrive Devonport, hustle IEB'ers into rooms and showers,
Head home for shower and change
Meet IEB'ers in Ulverrock for dinner
Head to party
Who knows!
^^Tash^^
Oh man if I was there I'd skip the pedi and do the Boags tour with the boys lol it sounds like fun original.gif I wouldn't skip the anvers though. Can someone bring be back some? lol Oh how I wish I could be spending my birthday down there with you all. The way things are going it will just be me and Nathan here. I'll make sure we have a good night though. Just hoist a drink for me girls.
Demon Deeva
Forgot to add, I haven't stayed at the Stamford but have heard good things about it Trace.
joeyn
I'd love to do a Boags tour ph34r.gif
Demon Deeva
Trace, could I get that pancake recipe from you at some stage babe?

Jo, I figured we'd probably end up dropping your off somewhere a touch less girly ROFL!
TreeHugger
Sure Fi, I'll pop it on msn original.gif

Tas girls, will there be a spare seat in someone's car for moi?? Mr Murray will have the big mother of a home with him as it will have the girls carseats and he'll be visiting family that day.

Time for Top Gear and a scotch I think, might even crack open the truffles later biggrin.gif

Fi, can I come over now and we do all of that tomorrow?

I have had a crap of a day, read about it on msn if you like. Be warned, it's a bit of a novel.
Tsikos
Haven't got onto MN Kim but hope things are looking better.

My wee man has a wiggly tooth ohmy.gif With the confimation of his permanant molars looking through the teeth charts I went "oh so this will be the first to go then" and wiggled said tooth and it wiggled lots. He's all excited about the tooth fairy visiting but I'm all cry1.gif my baby is growing up.

Also sore from diggning over garden, spreading moo poo and chick poo and mulching. Might sit for the rest of the weekend as far as I'm allowed wink.gif

Big, big hugs Kim hhugs.gif bbighug.gif Hope Troy and his friend are going to physically as good as gold soon sad.gif and that all you guys are going to be OK. More message on MSN.
Demon Deeva
cry1.gif Kimmee, glad you're all okay. Super dooper glad that I got a chance to talk to you and Troy, even if I did have to hone my stalking skills slightly ph34r.gif LOL.

I might do my nails up today in Troys honour - black and blue roll2.gif

Here's my current ones, it's a blend I call Tracee:

The colours are called Treehugger and Call My Cell-ery! wub.gif

Better go, thanks for adding a dash of excitement to the weekend Troy - NOT!
Demon Deeva
Forgot to add, there's one hitch to the Boags tour plan sad.gif no tours on weekends.

Can someone please email me with flights etc?

I'm going to check and see about another tour that we could possibly all do and it is available on the weekend, it would mean a trip to Burnie rather than Launceston, but it would also mean a trip to Lactos for cheeeeeese... I just need to find some extra adults to mind all the kids for a while, hell that's what grandparents are for dev (6).gif
TreeHugger
Fi, if you mean my kids, we were planning a lactos trip so Murray can bring them in the MH and it will have 2 spare seats for extra men/woman if needed. Saves us doubling up and seeing it twice otherwise.

And I think it should be called Kermit green tongue.gif

Love Trace
joeyn
Fi l would have offered to hire a bike for the weekend to free up a seat... then l worked out how cool it will be blink.gif
I can handle a foot/hand makeover... as long l can knit/drink or both wink.gif
We could always buy 1 of each Boags product and have a tour of the taste buds, l'm not that interested in the production side. Just the products laughing2.gif

Kim sad.gif thinking of you and Troy.

Tash l won't promise a full box of truffles will make it back to Victoria. Will you be in Vic then?
^^Tash^^
I'll be in Vic from the 2nd May till the 14th May since I will have quit work by then I can take extra time but will have to come back to await the sale of the house, Raz is staying with Josh down there though as he starts his new job down there on the 5th and I just have to wait until we find someone to love our house. Hopefully it won't take too long. Using "The Secret" to think positively that it will be sold soon.
joeyn
Had the lump cut out of my scalp today, it bled... a lot. I took the nurses advice and washed my hair as soon as l got home, while my scalp was still numb. sick.gif sick.gif l had to shampoo twice. Blerk!

Fi kermit green is a great description of your nail colour laugh.gif
And for a tease, l cast on your birthday gift yesterday cool.gif
Demon Deeva
ohmy.gif Naughty girl! NO BIRTHDAY PRESSIES!!!! Seriously, having you girls there is all I need. Even J knows he can't compete with that LOL.

Damn on the bleeding, has it stopped now? I had a sebaceous cyst on my head pop once, OMG the smell was putrid, I think i'd rather put up with the bleeding than that.

BTW my nails are now an holographic pink, couldn't come at the black and blue - sorry Troy!
mdjd
OMG Fi, an action packed weekend is ahead of us then!. Is all this on MSN or something. I can't get in there remember. Loretta - I will put on my list to call this week and talk to you about all this stuff. Fi, can you please PM your phone number??? I know I wrote it down in a teary mess whilst talking to Loretta last time, but I've misplaced it. wacko.gif

Mel - See you Wed night

Rachel, Mel, Theoni - I work on Wednesdays, but I am more than happy for you guys to meet up then as I have something on both Fridays so can't make those either, and it would be good for Theoni to be able to come to one as the last few have been fridays when she works. So, please go ahead and meet up next Wed.

Kim - I think you asked? Not sure about the arthroscope date as yet. ortho wants to wait 4 weeks and then book it, but I don't want it too close to Tas as the recover is two weeks, then we are going to the snow in mid June, and then year end for all of July/Aug so I'm in a bit of a dilemna about it. I am thinking of either saying do it now or never, but have to speak to my boss first as I need two weeks off work, which will not go down well I am sure.

Karen - hope you are feeling better soon.

Survey:
Where do you keep your:
Coffee – next to kettle, in jar it came in
Tea – in tea container next to kettle
Milo - pantry
Sugar - pantry
Vanilla Essence - pantry
Tea Towels – linen cupboard (thankyou Jen, I was feeling a bit weird till you posted LOL)
Spray n Wipe (or substitute cleaning preference) – under sink, lock on but not locked
English Muffins – pantry if I buy them
Tupperware – plastics cupboard when not in use
Emergency Candles/torch – kitchen drawer, kids room each have a torch
Grown up bikkies (or am I the only one who has those?) – next to the normal bikkies (my kids have learned what is mine is MINE
and one for the blokes - Remote Controls – in/under/on lounge, floor, kids lounges, coffee table, bench, toy room etc etc. Can never find the buggers when you need em!

I am slightly peeved that Ryan has so far not gotten into the provate school we wanted. They take the 1st 100 to put thier name down (after interview) and my friends who put thier name down 2 days before me got in and Ryan didn't I know there is still a chance as people might say no to the offer etc, but its just in true dz**** style that we are like number 102 or something on the list. WE are now considering moving back to the shire (gods country) as I am not too fond of the other options around us and have just about had enough of waiting. So, we are now going to begin a massive declutter and hope to have that finished in about 2 months and get the house on the market. Maybe we won't sell if the price isn't right, but we'll give it a go.

Work beckoning (how rude..).

M
Demon Deeva
Oh Michelle! Bugger on the school placement. However, you could look on the positive side, Loretta was just outside the intake number and she got a call within days saying that she was in. I'd give the school a call and ask them when their next intake will be. Go ahead with the de-clutter, you never know what effect a good clear-out will have on your decision to stay or go.

Forgot to add, none of the Tas stuff is on MSN, for that exact reason Michelle. Can you get into Blogger? As in, can you read my Blog?
Tsikos
Oh Darn Michelle tongue.gif moving from a 40 min - 1 hour drive away to a 15 min one which I vist 2-3 times per week..I'm so upset. But seriously if you're only 1 or 2 off you should be fine once the rejections start coming back - fingers crossed and you'll stay put. (Although could this solve your house space issues without having to renovate?) Let me know if you want me to start collecting the Shire/St George realty guide grin.gif

Loving having Max home. We've sorted his little lego and he actually helped and had imput blink.gif Waiting for Peter to come home from his interview (legs, fingers, arms crossed for him) and then off to a foodshop.

Oh - What do you guys pay for a childrens dental check-up? (Mel especially) Phoned my dentiat and got told $90 with a 6 week wait. Rang the childrens dentist we took Max to last year adn was told $160 but next week. I was 'thinking' $60-ish but am I unrealistic?
mdjd
Fi - yes I can read it at work, haven't tried at home, so will give that a go tonight. The last thing I can see in there is 30th march. is that right?
My flights are:

dept syd 3.30pm 23rd arrive laun 5.10pm 23rd (with Sharon)
dept laun 8.45pm 25th ( ohmy.gif ) arrive syd 10.20pm 25th (on my lonesome LOL)

I need to work our a budget for the weekend too!

M

Oh, sorry, on school thing, I rang the school but for a christian school find them completly rude and they won't tell me what number on the list I am. Figuring that my friend's kid got into the 100 and we only put put name in 2 days later that there could only be a max of 16 kids between us if they did an interview every hr for the 2 days (unlikely). I just don't like the attitude of leaving people hanging when clearly they could be honest about where we are at and let us decide for ourselves whether we wait or not. I can't afford to wait because I need to get Kyle and Noah into childcare and Ryan into before/after school care near the school. As the public school is in the opposite direction to the private, I am in a bit of a bind!

M

Rach - unrealistic. I paid $150 for Noah for paed dentist and waited 2 months to get in. My parents live in the shire so I already have access to the leader - thanks anyway.
AND, I don't live 40 mins from you laughing2.gif I think it took me 25 last time. I'd be that far from you in the shire too!!!

M
Demon Deeva
Okay, i'm setting up a private blog for us! You may need to get a Google account to use it but once I have all of the travellers id's you'll all be able to post.
sotetno
Wow Michelle lots of decisions! I must admit there is not much that could pull me back to the Shire again. While it's nice and green, it's WAY too Anglo for me now. Just not the real world I don't think biggrin.gif

Rachel - I didn't really take Nick to the dentist when he went, I just had an appointment and he watched what happened to me and then the dentist sat him in the seat momentarily and had a quick look but didn't do anything. It was more a familiarisation visit for him to see what a dentist was about. It cost me $95 on a special "first visit" deal. It would have been $240 for the two xrays, clean, flouridation etc, with out the first visit deal, so I think expecting $60 would be a little low, yes.

Oh and on the Tassie trip I'm officially out. had a good cry about it the other night, but Atti comes back from his second trip to France at 6:00pm on the 24th, so I don't think I could make it down there in time for the party cry1.gif
Demon Deeva
Awww Mel, hhugs.gif , there will be a next time. Vic girls have already decided that so hopefully we can fit in with more people then.

We're goign to get Kim to have a drink for everyone who can't be there for my party, that way she's not actually drinking dev (6).gif

laughing2.gif and add everyone's names to her wristband so she can cross them off with each drink!!

Murray has a job interview tomorrow, it's not the IR shipping training he was looking at but rather the tug boat control centre. He'd be one of 4 responsible for all the rostering of ships coming in and out of the ports in Vic and SA that require tug help. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself but the 6 days on 7 days off and doubling of current wage sound awesome! His interview is at 8:30am so he's got an early morning ahead of himself on the train but I'm sure he'll give a great interview as he has lots of knowledge of the area as his dad and brother work in shipping/tug roles.

Michelle - School attitudes permiate throughout the school and tend to reflect the pricipal (hence one of the many reasons why we didn't go local public). HGIS is just lovely wub.gif every staff just stops for a chat and when I was frantic last year about if we'd get an out of zone the secretary was always accommadating and lovely to speak to and conmiserate with and was never ever anything broaching on rude and they had over 60 out-of-zones applications and didn't have to take any if they didn't want to.

Really want to catch-up before bubs comes but this Wednesday is out for me even if I could keep my eyes open. Maybe we could arrange a night post-Tassie for Mel and I to sulk about your stories for those too pregnant or with inconvient DH travel plans biggrin.gif ?

Okay - unrealistic with dental pricing sad.gif So over the Aussie (or at least NSW) dental system (whinge whinge) NZ schools still have dental nurses that he would have been able to see at school. Was offered a 7:30 am sick.gif appointment next week with $90 dentist. Might just have to brave it as I don't want to wait 6 weeks when his tooth is wobbly and I'm having Mummy guilts and I don't want to pay $160!!! And Michelle - you DID mean Noah when you wrote Noah?????

xxx
mdjd
yes Rach, I did mean Noah. His bottom eye teeth seemed to be coming through funny - outways instead of upways. he has cut the top ones now, but they won't budge past half way down and the bottom still look the same as before (bulging out but not yet cut). if they haven't come through by 24 months I have to spend another $150!.

Ryan had a brief check up at age 3 after a friend's daughter nearly died from an infection in her tooth (emergency surgery and all), and for $80 he had barely put the chair up and got ryan to open his mouth and we were out the door. I was so peeved I never went back and hence Kyle has never been to a dentist.

On the school thing, the rudeness has worried me from the start (or should I say after they took the $220 non refundable application fee). I have rang three times asking different, very simply questions and everytime they have been rude. I am seeing us not getting in as a bit of a sign that maybe its for the best, and while the public school is totaly fine for primary, its the high schools that concern me.

Fi - thanks for your PM. I have replied with updated details

M

Mel - how could you say such a (true tongue.gif ) thing about the shire. Its one of the reasons I DO want to move back. L'pool can be less than desirable let me tell you....
Sorry to hear Tas is out. Bummer. See you wed night. Looking foward to it. tell me something you do like to eat and drink and I will make sure I get it (I know you aren't a coffee drinker).

Rach - Sure we can organise a mummy thing post Tas and before your baby comes. I'm not too sure how good I'll be on the stories though, but I will have pics to share for sure. The only other time I know I am out is the two weeks following the long weekend as we are going to the snow and a yet to be decided location.

M
^^Tash^^
Rach - Come to QLD, Nate's 1st checkup was free AND they gave him a little pack with a colouring in book, toothbrush, toothpaste and floss in it. AND in within 2 weeks of the phone call hehe
k~leigh
Hi guys, just a quick post, I have to go to the doctors.

Shaz, thanks for your sms today, it cheered me up!

I will not be drinking at Fi's party, but I will have a water for you all!

Update on MSN.
Shaznco
Hey all, my keyboard died when 2 naughtly children decided it needed a drink, funny that! Anyway that's why I've been quiet. I couldn't be bothered taking 4 kids to the shops during the school holiday's just to buy a keyboard.

Kimmie, as I said in my sms, I hope you are all ok. Scary stuff!

Rachel - Do you have private health? Dentist bills are not cheap but PH helps us, costs less than $30 out of pocket for a check up and clean. Our kids see the dental nurses at school for a check up once a year and then if they need any work an appointment is made to see the technician.

Michelle I hope you get an answer soon, how annoying.

Fi - Got your emails and links, great idea.

Thanks Loretta, I got your deposit. MWAH!

There is more to say but typing with a on screen keyboard and mouse isn't fun! I'll be dropping the kids at school tomorrow and heading to the shops.
Tsikos
cry1.gif Tash - Jealous!
Have considered PH extras for it Sharon but we'd be paying an extra $150 per month and ATM I see a dentist once a year for $100 and a filling is $200 so we haven't got to the point of 'need' for it to be worth it yet (but I do see in a few years with 3 kids that it could balance out)

Laughed at the keyboard needing a drink. We have a no drink or food rule past the dining/lounge room (but my tea somehow manages to avoid being noticed wink.gif )

Michelle - Shire IS 15 mins (12 min drive to Miranda for me) and you cost moolaa on the big fast road laughing2.gif And I laughed at Mel's Anglo comment. I still remember going to Sutherland pool last year and just standing there gauking at the fact everyone was blonde.
Shaznco
QUOTE

Same here, but our lounge/dining//office is one massive open room, ajoining the kitchen. Think 5.5m x 11.5m. Kids are constantly told NO FOOD DRINKS ON THE DESKS OR LOUNGE, yeah right!
Fair enough on the PH, we get our money's worth, glasses for Emmy and I, chiro for Jon, Physio for Joel, OT, psych and prescriptions for Emmy not to mention no public ENT here. Considering I had 2 lots of surgery, Jon's tonsils and Joels grommets. Medibank probably wish we didn't have insurance with them, LOL!
brazen
hmmm i get paid out more by our PHI than we pay in on my own, plus i almost singlehandedly take us to the medicare threshold unsure.gif

we just changed PHI though so we have a lot more covered now for the same $$ thank goodness (from MBP -> AHM)
joeyn
R ach we pay $73 a month for PHI extras only. We get back more than we pay in this year with dental, glasses, speech, medications. Might be worth shopping around and getting extras with another insurer.
Our dentist charges $50 for a kids checkup & polish. We can get same day appointment if they have had a tooth damaged, otherwise its a 1-2 week wait.

Michelle, hope the declutter, house hunting and selling isn't too traumatic.

My head hurts, l was a total idiot and forgot to stock up on painkillers. I did find some almost in date Nurofen in my old bike bag ph34r.gif that will do until l can get to a pharmacy tomorrow.
I think l only have 6 stitches, its hard to tell as there is a fair bit of hair stuck in parts sick.gif
mdjd
well Rach, nice to know I'm not worth the few bucks to come and visit then...

Joey - ouch your cut sounds nasty. God 6 stitches is a LOT in your head. Hope you got some good painkillers today.

Shaz - naughty naughty kids. I hope you get a new keyboard soon. You did extremely well on an onscreen one though.

Tash - QLD sounds like the place to be for dental then for sure. Hows all the packing etc going. Loved the pics on line of your home, looks fantastic.

ON PH yes we have gotten more than our fair shares worth in the last few years, but have to say that I am a bit peeved at the out of pocket costs on all the hospital visits. I am seriously considering not having the knee op becaue the out of pockets are $1000 and I just don't have that sort of cash. I wish they would bring something in which meant no gap for anyone who has PH cause at least we are reducing the load on the public system, there has to be a better deal surely!

That reminds me I have to phone the speechie to see why I haven't heard about Noah's group for next term rant.gif

M
LorettaG
Hey all,

Kimmee- Poor you and Troy, it must have been so scary, I'll try to call you a bit later, if you ever need me please don't forget to call.

Sharon- I worked out I didnt transfer enough LOL I did mean to I must have pressed the wrong number. I have transferred the rest. OK.

On PHI I still havent used my extra's yet. I to believe there should be no gap, to me it's like you pay so much to still have to pay more, there should be a small accsess but nothing else, like car insurance. Though I do see the value in Extra's for dental and the like if you are unlike me and use it LOL.

Rachel- My PHI dental $$ cover goes up every year you are covered so it's worth starting now to be at full coverage in 8-10 years when my kids may really need it. The reason I ended up going with it was if Brianna needed orthodontic work I could have managed it money wise but if all 4 need it i would be in trouble. I know I will still have to pay some money but it will be less.

I'm so tired atm, I really need to pick myself up, I might try some vitamins or something.

Love to all.
Demon Deeva
It's my wedding anniversry today! J bought me a new engagement ring. I had to take it back to be resized so I don't have a pic of it but it's beeeeyoooootiful! wub.gif It has a Tsavorite and diamond and is really unusual, i'm having a new wedder made for my birthday blush.gif Guess J will be getting some tonight! ph34r.gif

Jen, what's on order for your anniversary tomorrow? I remembered this year, i'm so proud of me!

Trace, I went and got new brochures, I opened the parcel I had for you and decided that the stuff I had was embarassingly out of date, So I got new stuff and i'm just about to take it to the post office for you!
brazen
i had to google Tsavorite but now i see it would match perfectly with your nails fi LOL J must have been beside himself wink.gif you are a lucky girl, we don't even do the anniversary thing LOL
Tsikos
Of corse you are Michelle wub.gif

Wow blink.gif Congrats Fi. Did something happen to your old one or was this just a nice surprize?

Feeling slightly paniced and have no idea how Zen Jen is coping (but then as she's MIA maybe she's not?) Daft Council never posted approval to building company so I drove out to the other side of Sydney today to drop it off. Find myslef standing in empty warehouse thinking $$$ loss/CA thoughts to then be told by a passer by that they moved a year ago and the stationary they used for us was out-of-date. Drove to new address and was pleased to see busy full large office. However Building guy mention to expect demolition in 2 weeks. TG I had some warning from Jen's story!! Guess the kids will be having a sleepover this weekend while we try and 'lose' 3 rooms into the other 4.

2 Ladies from my due-in group are on bed rest expecting deliveries soon. Makes the whole baby thing so much more real - gulp. laughing at all these 1st timers with their baby bags packed and ready to go and their nurserys done up but somewhere at the back of my head I think "ooh...maybe I should start to think of some things?" unsure.gif I have my nice body shop shower gel and body lotion brought and put away....
brazen
oh and happy anniversary!
and to jen for tomorrow too!!!
