I am wanting any recommendations for a hairdressers who does good children's haircuts in tuggeranong or woden and also need a good dentist - don't care where but in canberra (willing to travel for a good one), I want someone who is good with kids - my 4 year olds front tooth has gone grey - not from lack of brushing and sugary things but from his brother wacking him in the face a few weeks ago with a cricket bat (I am still in shock, I grew up with girls and am certainly not used to that) - I hope it wont affect his future permanent teeth as it is his front tooth sad.gif

Children under 5y are eligible for free dental checkups and extremely cheap treatment at the ACT Dental Health Clinics. Children 5-14y are eligible for cheap checkups and treatment.

I have taken my DD to Phillip health centre at 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5y and they have been very good with her. She has not needed any treatment. A friend's DD had a handful of fillings in kindergarten (due to being let brush her own teeth from age 2y blink.gif) and my friend was happy with their service.

My DD had an injury to her front baby tooth and we were seen the next day at the Belconnen ACT Dental Clinic. We didn't have to pay anything for the neccessary X-Rays. She has check ups there too. Like Steph I have found them very good with my DD.

Hi

I take my boys to the Tuggeranong Dental Clinic (run by ACT Health) and they are great with the kids.

Its free for under 5 years and then $47 a year for over 5. The $47 includes most treatments.

The phone number is 6205 2768. You will need to book asap as I rang the other day and the first available appt was 6/5.

Janet at the Civic Health centre dental clinic is superb with kids....cannot recommend her highly enough.

The Smile Lounge in Civic are great with kids, DS has had a couple of fillings done.

They have a dvd for the kids to watch whilst they are getting treated which helps & Sharyn the dentist is lovely.

We had to go private as we live in Qbn & to get into the free kids dental clinic was a 6 month wait even after being put on a priority list.

We see Heather at the Belconnen health dentist. If you recieve family tax benifits it is free for over 5 year olds. You just need to take a letter from centerlink. If they need treatment you then pay a small amount.

We've been to the pediatric dentist at Deakin - (I think his name is Peter Wong??) and he was just great.

No idea on hairdressers!

I just took my DS who is 2 to Just Cuts at tuggeranong hyperdome. Sheree was the hairdresser and she was great with him.

I'm guessing the free dentists above sound excellent but we have been going to Neil Cheeseman in Deakin. DD (3 years) has been twice.
