Hi

Has anyone ever been tobogganing at Corin Forrest. I have a nearly 4-year old and an 11 month old. We were thinking of taking the baby there for his first birthday seeing as it's slap bang in the middle of winter. Here's the link http://www.corin.com.au/snowplay.htm. Is 1 too young? Has anyone taken a baby? This snow thing is a bit of a novelty as both my husband and I are from the warmer climes...

Regards

Hi Candice,

I suggested this a couple of weeks ago here on EB as a possible get together for anyone that was interested but no-one was keen at all. In fact, one person (name escapes me) had been there but was not impressed with it at all. However, I'm with you with the idea of showing snow to a one year old. It's close to home and it sounds nice. I'd be willing to try it out despite the one bad feedback I got ... afterall, not every body has a great day at every place and some people might have bigger expectations than others IYKWIM.

I'd give it a go if not just for the experience of seeing and touching snow for the first time. The only thing I would suggest given our tempermental weather system here is to ring ahead to see how much snow they have had.

Enjoy.

Cheers,
Helen.

I think Corin Forest is great for little kids. As long as you're not expecting too much - and kids don't have an expectation that it will be like Thredbo Tounge1.gif. When we went there was only snow from snow machines. So I assume there is nothing there this time of the year. I think there is something on the website about whether or not they are open.

The kids will need snow suits or they will end up wet and miserable. Getting on the toboggan was great fun. The kids loved it. We love it because it's a quick drive then home again in the same day.

Hi

Thanks for the replies. It really does sound like fun and it's not too far away in case it's a waste of time.

We took Ryan up last year when he was about 16 months old. He hated every second of it. But that was on a day after natural snow, not in the paid the snowplay area. We also needed chains to get in there. We hired him a suit from Inski Phillip which was essential. I hope all of your kids love the snaw. Maybe Ryan takes after his Mama cos I hate the cold. wink.gif
