Hi ladies
we have been chucking names around every night when we head to bed and so far dh is still keeping breanna (not sure on spelling) on the top of his list
but I just saw holly and I think I love it... I am not sure if it is going to disapate really quickly or not - what do you think to common?
I also love brielle which he doesnt like but am going to suggest briella aswell (again not sure on spelling)
I know when i have posted here before regards to breanna not many of you like it hence me asking for your honest opinions of
holly
savannah
brielle/briella
thankyou

I love Holly and it meets all our specifications if we have #3
Easy to say, easy to spell, not too many letters, can't really be nick-named and no-one else in our family has a name that starts with H. Only problem was, our daughter who we had "Holly" earmarked for was born on Christmas Day. We couldn't do it to her

Edited cause I can't spell Christmas!

Holly is quite pretty. (Though I dispute the "no nicknameability" - the Hollys I know get called Holl.)
Yes, it's popular, but not overly so - there were 164 Hollys in NSW last year, making it the #31 name. But when you combine the "Bri" names there were more of those, and likewise with Gabrielle/Gabriella.
Savannah I really dislike. Brielle/Briella only as a nickname for Gabrielle/Gabriella, which I think are much prettier and classier choices.

I like Holly and Briella, Holly being my favourite of the two. Gabriella is pretty too.
Savannah, Breanna and Brielle are ok but I'm not too keen on them.

i like holly..... don't think its common at all.....
i've never understood why people care though if a name is common or not.. if i liked it i'd use it, regardless of being popular or not..

Holly is the nicest name by far from your list.
I don't think it is overly popular, I think I have only ever met 2 or 3.

I guess it depends where you live... DS has 3 Holly's in his year alone, and I also have a friend with a DD named "Holly", so for me, it's way too common iykwim.
In saying that, I much prefer it to "Brielle/Briella" - Savannah is quite nice, though.. HTH!

I thought it too popular to use for my daughter

Hey Jessica
I quite like Holly & Savannah but have to agree with your DH as my ultimate fav is Breanna

.
Brielle/Briella is interesting, I quite like it and I don't think you'd have any other girls in her class with the same name but I also like Gabrielle/Gabriella with the NN Brielle/Briella, Gabrielle/a would suit her as she got older a bit more I think than Brielle/a which is great for a little girl IYKWIM
Good luck deciding (lucky we've got a little while to decide hey!!

well i am a hollie, and people have always commented on my name... when i was little people used to say how unusual.. now people just say how lovely it is.. i have to spell it cos its holl-ie, but i think these days most people have to spell there names anyway!! i don't get it shortened apart from my dad who calls me Holl or Hollie Dawn (one of my middle names)
Cheers

I really like Holly too. I don't think it's too common either.
Savannah is also nice, (a gorgeous city too) but don't really like Breana that much.

Hi
I love the name Holly!!!
I did call my dog Holly - but if we hadnt it would be on our final list for DH and me.
I dont think its that common really - but then I dont really mind the more common names - I'd rather have the name I liked at the time iykwim???

I think Holly is lovely.
Not a fan of Savannah or Brielle/Briella, however I think Holly Brielle sounds quite nice for a first and middle name.

I am a mum to a Holly!! so obviously I love it

She is Holly Grace and always gets comments on her lovely name. She learnt to spell and write her name at 4 and her nickname is Holl or Holly Dolly.
We haven't come across many children around her age with that name either - just one born at the hospital around the same time and one a few years younger than her has just started her day care.

Holly is the top of our list if this bubba is a girl. We both love. We're having trouble with a middle name though.

I dont' know a single Holly. I have come across a lot of Breannas through playgroups and school though.
