Well I was very upset tonight at Monique when she walked out and I noticed that she has cut her hair at the sides. I was just wondering if anyone else's kids have done this as I was so annoyed with her for doing it. She has cut if from just below her shoulder to her ears on one side and a bit longer on the other side. About 2 months ago she walked out with a razor and said she was shaving her hair and I thought she was joking and then she did it in front of me. I then walked into the bathroom and there was her hair all over the floor.

Hi Mel
All of my sisters kids have cut their own hair at one time or another. Only thing you can do is get a hairdresser to fix it up and put all sharp items out of reach. Gotta love that boundry testing don't ya?

Oh no!!! I always dreaming Dasha have long hair like Monique. Goodness know when she will have it. Just do what Kylie said, keep sharp items, razor, scissors out of her reach. Hope her hair will grow quickly. Take care.

Yes, I have a repeat offender.

12 months ago Courtney cut a bit off the sides of her hair. I took her to the hairdresser to get it neatened up, this resulted in it looking a bit like a bowl cut.

Well she hated it and decided to "fix it".

She then proceeded to cut her into a full on mullet, right down to the scalp on one side and the front. It looked like it had been shaved off. I had to hide it under a really wide hairband as no hairdresser could fix what she did.

All scissors in our house are now really well hidden.

I hope Monique's hair can be neatened up by a hairdresser.

Oh No...not Moniques beautiful hair!!...Angelina hasn't done this yet, but when I was 4 I cut all my hair off right down to the scalp and it had to be virtually shaved, and as Angelina is fairly like me in lots of ways I won't be too surprised when she does it....though she did rub Nair hair removal cream all through her hair a couple of weeks ago, so maybe that was her preliminary attempt.

I would take her to the hair dresser to get it fixed...Mum tried to fix it first which only made matters worse.

Not yet - but my ds has. Not badly, and not more than once! <smile>. I cut my own fringe as a child, and the negative comments over the weeks it took to grow out cured me of any temptation to ever cut my own hair again!

Not sure how old Monique is...

One of my friend's triplets "cut" her own fringe when she was about 4 - almost right at the hairline so it was a tricky one to "fix" (ie try to hide).

When my brother was a kid he cut his own eyelashes - they are long and dark with a nice curl and I think he got sick of little old ladies saying how gorgeous they were. I cringe even now thinking about a child with scissors near their own face, let alone their eyes!

Luckily Alex has neither dexterity to handle scissors yet, nor much hair to bother trimming!

Oh Mel you poor thing just what you need this week I am sure. I was only thinking on Wednesday at Playschool I wish Gabby had beautiful hair like Monique, well at least you know it will grow back. I also just keep all scissors, razors, sharps etc out of Gabby's reach because one day she came out with DH razor trying to shave her face like daddy.

Good luck with the hair dresser, I am sure they will be able to do something to fix it.

Regards,

Nic
