I was reading yesterday's Canberra Times and it mentioned a great spot down south ... Corin Forest Mountain Recreation.

Has anyone been there? What's it like?

I was thinking that it might be a nice venue for a lunch on a weekend sometime in July.

Would anyone be interested?

Cheers,
Helen.

I've been a bit disappointed with Corrin Forrest. It's cold and wet, but mostly the people who run it are *horribly* unfriendly!

The first time we went, we were horrified that under 8yo couldn't ride the bobsled on their own, so you had to buy *two* tickets to take each small child on a ride. And the staff were rude to the children more than once (you know, the sort of people that bark orders at children and make patronising comments about them within the child's earshot!).

The next time we went, I was 8 months pregnant and took out my laptop in the cafe to do some work out of the cold. I'd ordered food and drinks, and the place was empty - but the owner felt obliged to come and tell me rather rudely that it was going to get busy so I'd have to move.

I'm sure we'll have to go again, because it *is* good fun for the littlies, but I'm taking my own food and drink and not giving them a penny more than I absolutely have to!

Oh, and don't trust their website - you need to phone them to confirm session times and that there actually is decent snow on the bobsled area!

I was really interested in just taking DS to see some snow and maybe have a little play in it. Lunch, whether it be at the cafeteria or we BYO, was just an extra as no doubt we'd be there during the warmest part of the day.

So who wants to see snow this winter without having to drive to The Snowys? original.gif

We'll be going anyway so if anyone is interested in joining us then let me know.

Cheers,
Helen.

Oh Helen...

As I'd love to drive around as much as I can now ;p , snowy place isn't my preferene. It's way too cold. Perhaps we can find indoor get together??? I'd love to come as long as the place warm ;p .

I take it from the deafening silence that no-one's interested? Oh well, us brave souls will venture there ourselves and report back later. wink.gif
