I am in desperate need of a formal evening gown. I will be in Canberra in a couple of weeks but only for a short time and will need to buy a dress! I usually go to Harts in the Canberra Centre but the other day when I was there it was closed/boarded up.
Any ideas??
It needs to be quite a formal dress because I am Matron of Honour at a Debutante Ball (don't laugh!). I have the perfect dress already but it is to big. I have lost weight since I wore it and it cannot be altered to fit.

Apparently Roseys is closing down or has already closed down

.
Harts must be somewhere because a friend was saying she bought a dress from there this week. I will ask her when I next see her if you like.

Hi,
Harts has just moved, it's still on the same level, just down near the travelator, opposite Socrates.
and I think Rosey's has also moved, I think across the road from where it was but not positive about that one.
I got my wedding dress from Angelic Inspirations in Gold Creek which is what I think lisacat was referring to.
Momento or Soho, Manuka or City are really nice too, altho sometimes pricey.
Good luck,
Kate
Roseys is still there but under new management. I know the previous owner and it's sad to see her go.
It's still on Pirie st but across the road from where it use to be next to Discountronix.

Thanks guys.
I can't buy on ebay because I need to try it on. I am probably a size 6 "up top" (in other words, I have no boobs!) and a size 8 everywhere else.
I will track down Harts. I also thought of Rosey's as my SIL got her wedding dress there. I just couldn't remember the name of the shop.
Thanks for your help.
