Hello!
Just wondering if some of you fantastic multiple mummies could tell me about YOUR symptoms early in your pregnancy.
I have my scan in 2 weeks and am wondering if it is twins...
Third pregnancy and I am absolutely huge!! I am now over my MS (I am 11 weeks on Friday), only have history of twins on my maternal grandfather's side, I am 36 and starting to get a little scared....
I am sure I would still be feeling really sick if it was twins right? Do you pop out a lot earlier with twins? It must be just a 3rd baby thing...

I just can't believe the size of my tummy! On the weekend my aunt got very annoyed with me because she thought I was 5 months preg and hadn't told her..she calmed down when I said I was only 10 weeks, but was still shocked
Anyway, tell me your experience please!!??

I was very large and also put it down to 3rd pregnancy pre-stretching and lots of bloating/wind. I had m/s from 6-10w with vomiting, then just nausea until around 14 weeks, then nothing until the third trimester where I just couldn't really eat at all.
Other than that it was just like my other pregnancies early on. I definitely got very large, very quickly though.

From 1 week before period was even due which continued for ages.
And by 11 weeks I was so huge that I needed to buy some maternity pants. I just didn't fit into anything anymore without sitting it below my tummy. Not even my fat pants.
But knew they were twins early on so it was no surprise.

Me, had absolutely NO IDEA.
I had no morning sickness to speak of and didn't feel any bigger than my first pregnancy in the first six months.
I only found out at my first OB appointment at about 8 weeks when he decided to do a scan to check the heartbeat (and of course found 2!).
Looking back on it though, when I did the pregnancy test I was supposed to wait about a minute or so for the results, but two very dark lines popped up in about 2 seconds. Didn't really ring any alarm bells though.

I'm 12wks pg with twins. Before i found out, I definitely knew something was different (thought i was just having a girl though).
Morning sickness from wk1 onwards, hasn't stopped yet

. I've only just started to get a little bigger, not noticeable though. Completely different pg so far to my DS, constantly nauseas and the rest

Other than ridiculously high hcg levels (which I also had with my singleton so even then it wasn't a good indicator) I had the same symptoms for both my twin and singleton pregnancies. VERY sick (for the entire pregnancy both times). Size wise, I popped out at about the same time too, but the singleton was my 2nd pregnancy and they say you can pop out sooner with subsequent pregnancies.
Some women have multiples and not a day of sickness so that's not an indicator necessarily at all.
Good luck! Look forward to seeing your results

I only vomitted twice during my whole twin pregnancy, and not a lot of nausea either. Reflux started the day I got my bfp.
I knew from 8ish wks, and was in maternity pants from about 12wks (first pg too!)
Don't assume ms will be excessive with twins - in a lot of people it is, but there's plenty without ms too.

Hi,
I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with twins. I have horrid morning sickness(I have renamed it 24hr sickness)with headaches, constant nausea and frequent vomiting which started at about 3 weeks, before I even knew of the pregnancy and still going now. I am also suffering insomnia, waking most nights about 2am and remaining awake for hours. I am not showing at all and nobody believes me when I tell them there is 2 in there! Even the midwife on Thursday asked where I was hiding them. (I am only small to begin with). Had my first scan at 13 weeks on April Fools day, great joke hey??

hi my name is amanda, i have twin daughters madison and isabelle. They are 21 months old. I didnt really have much sickness only nausea and the odd vomiting mainly in the morning. My main symptom was extremely painful breasts for a few weeks. Thats when i did a home test. It took 2 seconds for the lines to come up so i had a test done at the doctors and it was positive. I had a scan to see how far i was and thats when we saw 2 heartbeats, i was shocked and petrified. Whenever someone would ask whens the baby due i would say im having 2, they would say really you dont look big enough to be having 2. During the whole pregnancy i put on 4 kilos and when i had the girls i lost 9 kilos. I had the girls at 32 weeks, 8 weeks early and labor was 4 1/2 hours to give birth to both. All i had was gas for pain relief.

I'm another one that didn't have any m/s... I was just really, really tired. Found out at a dating scan at 9.2 wks - it was my first pg so I can't comment on the popping out early thingy...
good luck!

OP are you sure you aren't me??? I am going through the same paranoia! I'm the same age, I'm pg with #3.
This is the first time I've had ms, I'm only 8wks and already finding it hard to fit into some of my clothes (when I've been fine up to 16wks with #1&2) and there are twins on my paternal granfather's side!!
I won't be having u/s for another 4 or 5 weeks and am waking up in fear as I don't know what I would do with four in 3.4years or where to fit everyone in a two-bedroom house!!
I hope your news when it arrives isn't too much for you!

The only symptom I had which was different to my other 2 pregnancy's was implantation bleeding.....no MS at all!!!

Hi, I'm Karen and my twins are now 7 1/2.
I had a little implantation bleeding so had an early scan to check all was ok. I was only six weeks along when I discoverd I was expecting twins. Other than that, my main symtom was the most horrendous MS which luckily went away around 4 months!
Our third baby was a singleton and although I was ill, it was nothing like with the twins so I was pretty sure that I was only carrying one!

This is my only pregnancy so I have nothing to compare to. MS was my only symptom, but then I was that sick I wouldn't have noticed anything else.
I started getting nauseus 3 days before AF was due, was vomiting by week 5, and by week 8 I was vomiting 10 - 15 times a day. It was awful!! At about 15 weeks it decreased but didn't disappear until week 18. I lost 15kg in the first trimester and came away from the pregnancy the same weight I was going in.

I found out at 6 weeks that I was pregnant with twins. The only indicator that could have possibly have pointed to a multiple pregnancy before the scan was very high progesterone levels. My hcg was within normal limits, in fact was in line with my singleton pregnancies.
I had a dream the night before my scan that I was pregnant with twins, subconciously I suppose I already knew.
Throughout my pregnancy my m/s was different to that of my singleton pgs. My morning sickness wasn't constant but on days when I was sick it was relentless until around 20 weeks. With my singleton pgs I was constantly nauseous for 12 weeks.
I didn't really pop out until around 20 weeks and looked no larger until after that time.
Good luck.
Cheers
Kellie

Hi Ladies,
As I am the OP and told you I would give you an update - here goes!!
I am expecting.......
One Healthy Baby!!!!
I just had the scan today and am mostly relieved but in the back of my mind a little bit 'aw bugger...'
Thanks so much for all of you sharing your stories, I have really enjoyed reading them and its good to know the variety of symptoms seems to be about the same as any pregnancy.
I am still humungous but it must be just the 3rd baby, lazy tummy muscles thing
Mamabug, let me know how you go
