Hello,
Having left this to quite the last minute, as I am having my baby boy tomorrow, I need some advice on the name. My DH and I have not been able to agree on anything this whole time and may finally have come up with one, but I am not 100% sure on it when taking into consideration my other boys names.
We are thinking of Rylan, the only problem is that my other boys are Declan and Hayden. Do you think that it is a bit "cutsie" (for lack of a better word), given that they are kind of similar and almost rhyme???? The other alternative is Hamish.
Thanks in advance,
Decsmum

I don't like Rylan at all...sorry!
I much prefer Hamish, this sounds very masculine to me!
Good luck!!!!

Not keen on Rylan.
Hamish however is great, standout winner and in my opinion suits Declan and Hayden a lot more.

Wow...must be exciting knowing that you get to meet bub tomorrow.
I think Rylan is OK, but i do think it clashes with your other names. Riley would go much better IMO. Hamish nice, but getting quite popular.
GOOD LUCK

Hey Decsmum,
I love the name Rylan, probably because I know of a gorgeous little fellow named that!
I think Hamish probably goes with your other boys names! And it's a pretty cool name!
Goodluck for tomorrow! And think yourself lucky you were able to narrow it down to just two.....

Not keen on Rylan at all. I like Hamish though! Strong and very masculine.
Enjoy meeting your new little boy!
Best of luck

I love Rylan, but DF thinks that adding the 'l' to Ryan makes it sound feminine. He prefers Ryan.
I definately prefer Rylan over Hamish & thinks it goes lovely with your 2 boys.
Best of luck tomorrow...wish Peanut would come then too!

DF=23

I'm not keen on Rylan but I love Hamish. I think Hamish is far too close to Hayden. I also think Rylan is too close to Declan. Sorry but I wouldn't use either with your boy's names for those reasons.

I much prefer Rylan.

Hamish isn't a name that I can take to for some reason. Perhaps you could wait and see what bub looks like and decide from there?
Best of luck for tomorrow. What an exciting day you have in store! Let us know what you name your sweet son!

If siblings names are going to be similar I prefer them the start differently. So I think Hayden and Hamish are too close. Rylan and Declan are close but because they start differently I think it is excusable...just. However Ryan or Riley may be a better choice.

I don't like Rylan at all, and think 3 n-ending names is really too much.
Hamish is gorgeous, and although it's a bit close to Hayden, I think that's preferable to having 3 en/an names.
BTW I

Declan and Hayden

Best of luck for tomorrow!!!

My sons name is Ryan so I am a bit biased when I say I agree with PPs that Ryan is a good name. Personally I think with Rylan he will probably get a lot of people either mishearing him and writing Ryan or he will constantly be spelling it to people as he gets older. I like Ryan and Riley better but Hamish is cool too. How exciting to be meeting your little boy!! Best of luck

Thanks for all of your responses.. Busy packing bags and getting last minute things organised as I don't have to go in until mid afternoon. Horrible just waiting around for the day!
Still undecided on the name front, hoping that it will srike me once I get to see him!
Cheers

Hi all,
Just an upadate on the name... We had a gorgous DS last week, and didn't end up going with either Hamish or Rylan - DH came around on the name that I wanted all along and he hated (but now loves adn thinks suits him perfectly!)
We named him Flynn Oliver.
Thanks for all of your opinions..

Congratulations on Flynn Oliver.
You've chosen a lovely name that goes well with your boy's names but isn't so similar.
