Hello,

I'm hoping people can give me an idea of how long I can expect the wait to be to get the combined results (scan & bloods) back from my Nuchal Fold test.

I've got the scan tomorrow morning (at the place in Colbee Court in Phillip) and I believe they will refer me on for the bloods which I am also hoping to have done tomorrow.

This whole process is so different to last time (inter-state)

Thank you,
mumma-g
I dont actually remember getting mine back. It probably did happen I just dont remember - Sorry that really wasnt much use.

Funny tale - I had a friend say to me one time 'I cant believe they are going to measure the knuckle-fold - what do I want that for'. hehehe
Barky
I imagine you would get them pretty quickly. Within 2 days I would think. I never did the combined one just did the nuchal fold without blood test and picked up the official results that day.

I had my scan and bloods done on the same day and then my doctors had the results within 48 hours.

I had my scan and bloods done same day and got the blood results back around a week later. Ultrasound films were produced and collected same day.

About a week for me too, although I got to take home the ultrasound pictures on the day. Good luck with it! original.gif

My combined NT results took 12 days to come back and were a shock when they did... ohmy.gif

I had my Nuchal Scan and blood test last Wednesday.

I'm still waiting for my results unsure.gif

Do I call someone? Are they sent to me? I honestly have no clue.
Tinkerbelle
I got my results from my GP, I jsut called them to see if they were in yet and picked them up when they were... as soon as my GP saw my face he called my ob to get his opinion on further testing...
Savvy
Brindlegirl - You should be able to call the doctors and they will give you the results - if all is fine then they probably would wait till your next appointment to tell you. The only reason my doctor called me this time was because after a bad experience with my results when pregnant with Cooper she knew how anxious I was this time around.

Thanks everyone. The scan went well, nuchal fold was 1mm smaller than last time despite me being three years older.

The sonographer gave me two options regarding the blood test component. I could have it done at no charge downstairs (Phillip Medical Centre) and the results would take about a week to come back or I could go to Capitol Pathology who would charge me "about $20" but the results would come back in two days. I went with Capitol Pathology but they didn't charge me anything anyway. I should have my combined results in about a week.

Thanks for all the replies.

You'll probably find that you will get a bill in the mail in a few weeks time. It will actually be for about $80 and once you claim through medicare your only about $20 out of pocket.

Glad all went well with your scan original.gif

I got my lovely bill from capital pathology in the mail for $84.30, ended up costing me approx $20.

Good to hear all went well.
