Hi,

We need to take DD to an ENT to have her investigated for adenoid and tonsil removal, sleep apnea and other breathing, hearing and speech issues.

can anyone recommend an ENT that is good with kids (she is 3) and who is between Joondalup and the city? We have PHI.

Also, what is the process for diagnosis and treatment? How do they actually examine the adenoids? If they remove them (both tonsils and adenoids) is it overnight or day surgery?

Cheers

If they try to give you Ian Mitchell (even though he is in South Perth) say no, myself and another member had issues with him, mainly his manner. He fobbed me off with anti-depressants.

Good luck, hopefully someone NOR can recommend someone for you.

Dr Vijaysekeran was awesome with my little guy... he has an office at Joondulup Health Campus and also Nedlands. Once we finally got in to see him, the time between that appointment and surgery was really quick.

Dr Pek Goh took over for us when Dr Levitt retired. He's great, and has successfully carried out adnoid, grommetts and tonsils operations for our kids.

We see Dr Francis Lannigan totally recommed him his in Nedlands his been great with my two (I'm from kalgoorlie he comes here every few months) oh yeh having tonsils out is usually an overnight stay, if it's adenoids and grommets it's day surgery. With my two adenoids we seen to be enlarged with an xray

Agree with Anna - Dr Vijaysekeran is great. It took us two weeks to get a hospital appointment (Glengary) so if you have PHI use it.

We are still waiting to hear back from PMH, I left Isaacs name on the waiting list to see how long it would take to get him in, so far for a semi-urgent procedure it has taken 9 months (semi urgent should be done in 90 days).

Adenoids is day surgery but Tonsils is an overnight stay.

Isaac needed an X-ray which showed his adenoids were enlarged and blocking his breathing passages.
