We had one and we used it and got our money's worth out of it. I used all of the dry cleaning vouchers as I get DH uniforms dry cleaned every 4 weeks and I used a lot of other ones as well.

Hey there Jo. I bought the entertainment book last year and absolutely love it. We saved $25 the first time we went out for dinner (half the price of the book). Just on the weekend, we went to questacon and got entry for 1 adult for free so that alone was a saving of $14. There are also free vouchers for Mogo Zoo and C*ckington Green.

We used all the takeaway vouchers, the video ezy vouchers, dymocks and even the cafe ones. We definately got our money back.

I do recommend them; I just wish that they had one for Darwin.

Thanks

Sorry to hijack your thread Jo, but is there anyone selling these books for this year?

We'd love to get a Canberra one but can't find anywhere to buy one and would prefer to be helping out a fundraiser if possible.

Cheers,

Nicola

We have recently bought our third Entertainment Book for the third year running. They're great and we always get our money's worth. We use a lot of the vouchers (cafes, pitch and putt golf etc), have used it for the car hire in Qld and WA, as well as accommodation at Margaret River, Albany, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane (50% off the rack rate so we can afford posh self-contained apartments @ $110 per night, instead of $220!!). We sometimes eat out at "gold" restaurants (eg. Hyatt arvo tea, Hyatt buffet, Rocksalt etc - generally 25% off the bill or one main meal free) and use the Brumby's, Video Ezy, Bay Swiss & cafe vouchers.

We've bought one for the last 3 years and will be getting one again this year. As others have said, you get your money's worth back in one or two dinners out. Not to mention the 2for1 bread vouchers for Brumbies that we LOVED!

Our Christmas Angel is growing so fast!

Where can you get these from?

Cheers,
Helen.

MIL has bought us one for the last two years and she just gave us the new one today. She gets them thru the Arthritis Foundation.

We love them and definitely save more than the cost of the book! I keep the book in the glove box in case we decide to eat out unexpectedly or stop off somewhere for coffee etc.

Hi Molly,

I'd love to get one through the school. Do you need to have the money to order them? If so can you send me your banking details and I'll pop the money in original.gif

Cheers,

Nicola

Hi

I am selling the Sunshine coast,Brisbane and Gold coast ones for our local softball club(Bandits), that I am a member off. We are trying to raise money for our training equipment as at the moment we do not have much at all. If you would like one I can post one to you or you can pick up if you would like. I am sure I can get other books for other areas if need be as well. They cost $60 plus post.

Thanks
Jane

Hi Helen,

The books are $50. I'm not sure on wether or not you need to pay first, usually you do though. I automatically sent my book back in because we didn't want it. I need to drop in today to organise one for Nicola, so will find out then.

Yep, it would be a good excuse to attack another one of those cakes!! It'll also be a nice break from everything ballet.....I seem to be living at the studio these days as Hayley has another eisteddfod at the end of the month. Gosh, you should have seen the mess Tahnee created in there the other day, she discovered the jam that came with our scones and had an absolutely wonderful time errrrr "eating" it! Hopefully she won't teach Christopher her bad habits!

Will get back to you later on when I know more.

Hi,
I am similar to the other ladies - love the entertainment book. We have gotten hundred and hundred of dollars of value. We use the discounts as an excuse to visit a restaurant we wouldn't normally go to, and also have been to a few *gold* restaurnats (LOVE rocksalt in Hawker). You basically get the books value if you use one voucher to see the Chamber orchestra. LOVE the dymocks book vouchers/wendies chocollo vouchers, coffee vouchers etc.

We are still sans kiddies, so we expect that after bubs has come, we may not get to eat out as often, but still expect to get great value out of the book.

Nicole,

Many of the restaurants in the gold and silver sections that do takeaway will let you use the voucher for that - could be useful after your bubs arrives. Eg last month DH and I ordered takeaway from Shalimar while we were at the rally (near Queanbeyan) and picked it up on the way home. It was late and DD was way overdue for dinner!

The other bonus of having the book is it gives you the ph no of all the places so you can ring to book a table or order takeaway.
