My 3.5yr old DD still needs to have a daytime nap. Even if we haven't had a big day.She then goes to bed at 0800 or 0830pm
I tried to cut out the daytime nap thinking she would then go to bed at 0700-0730pm but it didn't work. At 0530 her eyes would be hanging out of her head and she'd be back up at 3 in the morning saying she wanted breakfast!
Is anyone elses 3 yr old still haveing afternoon nap.
BTW her 'nap' lasts for about 2-2.5hrs!

I think they should stop napping when they are ready. If it works for you - don't worry. Just enjoy.

My friend's nearly 4 year old still has a two hour daily nap. I say if you are lucky enough for them to still want to have one, keep it up.

Totally depends on the child. My oldest and youngest sons gave up their day sleep around their 2nd birthday, but DS2 was still having his day sleep till closer to 4.
From what you've said (eyes hanging out of her head at 5:30 if she misses her nap) then I'd say yep she still needs it. Lucky you

As you know each child is completely different. My son is 4 1/2 he still naps every day for 1 - 1 1/2hrs. Even on school days, he sleeps for 45mins when he gets home. I say enjoy it while she's still napping!!!!!!

My 4.5 y.o. still has a nap at daycare. I think it's around 1.5-2 hours, but I don't know for sure. At home (on weekends) it's harder to get him to have his nap, then he gets all grumpy and irritable early evening and gets send to be early (7.30). His normal bed time is 8.30, sleep thru until 7 am ish.

I think it depends on the child. If they need it then they need it. Unfortunately my nearly 4 year old stopped daytime naps at not quite 2 - He makes it to about 7 - 7:30pm before he drops and God bless him sleeps till 7 - 8am!

My DS will be 4 next month and still needs a nap each day, he is at kindy twice a week so doesn't nap then but he falls asleep on the way to afternoon activities so defintiely needs it! LOL
DD1 was at Pre-Primary (year she turned 5) and would still have a nap on the weekends and even now at 7, Sunday is nap day! LOL I think if you can get them to nap then encourage it for as long as possible
