Following on from the previous getting to know you threads (& coz I'm really nosy

) how did your EB name come about?
Okay I'll start....
Trixmama =
trix - my nickname from uni days because I can do all this weird tricks with my joints due to being hypermobile
mama - proud of being mum to those gorgeous little boys of mine...
Next...

Well mine is pretty obvious
I have been a SAHM since 17 September 2004, 9 days before DS1 was born

... no plans on going back to work anytime soon either

!!
Tinkerbelle
05/04/2008, 02:46 PM
tara - my name
tarabell - I love fairies and tinkerbell so I am called tarabell cause it is like tinkerbell... :-)
74 - year I was born... oh I feel so old!
I'm a nut

Well no there is a bit more to it. When I originally joined my username was Pautiric (something from my teen years). In my DIG I always signed off as Nic but there was another Nic as well so I started signing off as Nut and eventually changed my username to match.
Nut itself came from when my lovely sister and I were playing crash bandicoot together. We had aimed to complete the whole game between us... When ever we saved the game Syl would type in S Y L and I would type in N I C. After getting a bit sick of it she typed in S T U (3 letters next to each other and I entered N U T (N on one line and U T directly beneath it).
And so nut became my name.
For a little uniqueness where necessary I now also use Nutticus.

STEGS is my hubbys nick name
HAREM is because there is 5 females living in the house(me, 3DDs and a bulldog)

so decided to change it to something easy.

I am very original and used my kids initials. Well the first two initials of their first names.
I started of as Robyn123 when I only had 3 children. Once Connor was born I decided I needed something different.

I actually could have changed it during my pregnancy cause if he was a girl he would have been
Courtney.
Robyn
Bimbogirl
05/04/2008, 03:40 PM
Started off when I was living in the midwest in the USA. I am blonde with (well had pre-DS) big boobs, and the number of times it was assumed that I was a thick, air head bimbo was amazing. Decided to embrace it rather than get annoyed by it.
Nicole
Barky
05/04/2008, 03:45 PM
Mine is fairly boring. When my hubby was in high school he was nicknamed Barky so when we got married I became barky too!!
laraq75
05/04/2008, 04:38 PM
Mine stems from when I first joined up with a hotmail address way back in 1995.
Lara - my first name
q - the beginning letter of my maiden name
75 - the year i was born.
maltesers
05/04/2008, 04:42 PM
I live in a suburb near Hawker and I am a mama and I like the noodles at Wagamama in Civic

05/04/2008, 04:52 PM
Nut your little boy is just gorgeous!
Mine is a play on my name, Sherrie, I took the last three letters and rhymed it.
All my friends call me Rie/Ree

*mamabear*
05/04/2008, 05:42 PM
Lol what a great question, I often wonder about usernames...
Okay mine is for 4 different reasons...
1-Well, I'm a mama.
2-I'm like a protective mother bear, if you upset my cubs I'll tear your head off
3-DP often calls me it, because of reason 2 (above), and also as I tend to hibernate over winter, "only emerging to forage for food" to quote him.
4-A friend who knew this forwarded me an email about why it's great to be a mama bear including things like "you're expected to have hairy legs, and wake up growling"...classic.
The *'s are because the name was already registered!
mogy37
05/04/2008, 06:09 PM
Mogy is my cats name and 37 was the street number we were living at.
dixiebelle
05/04/2008, 06:50 PM
Always wanted a pet goat, and the name I had ready was Dixiebelle... I had 2 names picked out for two baby goats too, but can't exactly remember those... think one was Memphis?? (I loved the Deep South!)
Mel_Mac
05/04/2008, 07:10 PM
I'm boring too!!
First half of first name (Melinda) and first half of surname! I actually have thought of changing it to my nickname Alfie (Alf was from the planet melmac) but I can't be bothered

When very first preg with Liam I had a pseudo account to post on here and I was Alfie then
jomicabi
05/04/2008, 07:39 PM
My username is made up of the first 2 letters of the boys' names and the 2nd and 3rd letters from Abi's name.
cheers

Mel, I really like the name
Alfie. Go on, do it, you know you want to.

When I joined EB I was Bride2Be. DH and I eloped to Daydream Island and unfortunately Cyclone Larry decided to join us. We were very lucky as we arrived at the tail end of it and the storm clouds made for amazing wedding photos.
gollygar
05/04/2008, 08:28 PM
When I first joined I was hok67 - hok being my initials (maiden name) and 67 my birth year. Then I had DS and so was ckrmum for a while (first three letters are his initials).
But my current ID is what DS, as a 2yo, used to call a star ... gol-ly-gar. Sounded pretty unique to me.
Savvy
05/04/2008, 08:41 PM
My username is a shortened version of DD's name Savvy (Savannah) When I was pregnant with her and we were deciding on a name quite a few people said "you will be able to shorten it and call her Savvy" I remember thinking no way, I love the name Savannah too much! Well second day in hospital I call her Savvy

It stuck and she gets it a lot - she loves it and tells everyone her name is Savvy!
Another totally of topic little bit of news but today we were in Savvy school wear and of course I'm calling DD Savvy and the ladies working there were looking at me wierd until I explained the whole name thing
Kelly
DH Chris
Jet07
05/04/2008, 08:59 PM
It's my nickname and softball shirt number. The nickname has actually been in use since I was at school, as an abbreviation of my name! The number was because I wanted 7 but it was already taken so I used 07.
eeyoreangel
05/04/2008, 09:20 PM
Mine is because I have a tattoo of an "Eeyore - Angel". Very boring I'm afraid.
Jill
Doppelganger
05/04/2008, 09:24 PM
Because I'm in disguise
darnie
05/04/2008, 09:35 PM
Mine is incredibly boring and shows absolutely no imagination on my part. It is my nickname, which sort of came about because younger family members couldn't say my name (Deanne, sounds like Dee Yarn).
JustSmileAndNod
05/04/2008, 09:40 PM
I have had three usernames, previously purplekitty2000 as I love purple and cats (?!!).
Not sure why I made this one what it was??
HI TANYA haven't seen you for ages - Natalia is walking as of this week!!
jagie
05/04/2008, 10:04 PM
Hi. My husband is Korean. Jagie is a term of endearment between young couples in Korea - it means "sweetie". Older married couples call each other Yobbo, but I don't particularly want to be called that!
Tan72
05/04/2008, 10:29 PM
I too have had a few user names in my time. Mine prety boring - When I originally signed up I was Tan67 which was derived from the first three letters of my first name and the number of our house.
I decided I wanted a new name and it was to be something different and daring, so I changed it to Tan72, which is again my name and the year I was born - whoa someone stop me
I finally decided to change last year to ~Ladybug~. This is in honor of my DD and all that she has been through this past year. The reason it was ~Ladybug~ is because it is Mackenzie's talisman/lucky charm. At every major surgery she has had one has appeared at some stage even when they are not in season, just to let us know all will be alright!
Tan
beaglebabe
06/04/2008, 06:36 AM
I joined EB when we had just started TTC. Lots of people seemed to have usernames based on their kids names, and our puppy (a beagle) was our baby at the time. So Beaglebabe I became.
Poor puppy has been a bit neglected since Toby came along.....
Purple_Gecko
06/04/2008, 08:05 AM
Purple= fave colour
Gecko=fave animals
Puggle
06/04/2008, 08:11 AM
When I joined, I initially wanted to remain anonymous, so went with Puggle. A puggle is a baby echidna.

Gorgeous G - well Gretel is simply gorgeous. I always wanted a girl ...
Mel - I loved Alf... even have an Alf doll sitting on Ethan's bed

... just think of the cool signatures you could make.

After watching Finding Nemo, I totally related to Dory, whose memory is pretty bad plus I think she is hilarious, so, Dory it is
