Hi there,
DH and I have been having trouble during the whole pregnancy with names, we just simply cannot agree and have finally found a name we both seem to like.
So I'm just after some opinions on the name 'Amelia', does it go well with our DS and DD's names Christian and Marissa? We have a 4 letter surname so I'm not sure if the name will sound funny with a one syllable surname?
*Edited to ask* Is that even the correct spelling for the name? and how would you pronounce it? Just want to make sure that it's pronounced how I think it is lol.
Anyway, thanks for looking.

I would pronounce it Am-ee-li-ah.
Cute name, glad you have both agreed on something. My DF is being difficult with names we only have 8 days to go (and that is if bub is on time)

It goes well with your other children's names.
I pronounce it Ah-meal-lee-ya.

Another lover of the name!! We have an Amelia Faith. We call her Millie most of the time.
I think it goes great with your other children's names as well. I pronounce it the same as the other PP's.
Cheers

We are naming our daughter Amelia Grace. It is pretty popular at the moment but so are heaps of other names and who knows which names will be popular in the next few years. I think it goes great with your kids names

I love Amelia Ah-MEEL-ee-ah.
We already had one in the extended family so my DD has the Spanish version, Emilia.
I think it goes beautifully with your other children's names.

DD was very close to being Amelia, in the end we chose Chloe as a first name and used Amelia as a mn

.

I couldnt decide between Amelia OR oLIVIA, BUT REALLY WANTED (OOOPPPS typing 1 handed..) Jae for a middle name & didnt want an OJ. So she is an AJ.. (not that she gets that).
Plus Amelia is DHs granmothers name, so we wanted that...

We have a little girl Amelia in our mum's group. She gets called Mia and Midgey (cos she's tiny) Its a classic, beautiful name that's not going to date either.

My niece is called Amelia Grace and she chose to call herself Minnie, which has stuck. She is super cute and it suits her down to the ground.
It does seem very popular nowadays tho, but if you love it, go with it. DS has a very popular name (Lachlan) and we haven't come into contact with that many children with the same name at all!
Good luck, it is a very pretty name
