I'm thinking of taking the children to the circus - has anybody been to the one currently in town? It's a bit more money than I'd like to spend without knowing it's worth seeing!

A guy from our playgroup took his 2 kids and it cost $72.00. Definately not cheap. It went for 2 hours, may have to sedate (LOL) some children to get them to sit still that long. He said it was good, even though the people made a few mistakes during the performance. Overall he said it was good but expensive. Hope this helps.

Yep we went last Tuesday. Started off a bit slow...was a bit too much dancing and not enough action. The only animals are little ponies that I must admit were very cute. We bought the cheapest possible tickets and had great seats...would not pay for more than B reserve as they are just as good as A res. The tent(woops big top) is very small. There were only about 14 people in the VIP and ringside seats(which were the row in front of us anyway!) It got okay towards the end with the tight rope walker guys and the spinning cylinder thingy (or was it their outfits...hehe) but I felt it went a bit long, plus it was bloody hot in that tent! Ben watched and loved it the bigger kids(9,11,13) were a bit ho hum. Clowns were very unfunny and a couple of "accidents", near miss's were staged, as well as the guy from the audience with the big shoes, who they made come out.(in case you were wondering)
Anyway littles may love it may not but I won't go again in a hurry :-)

Thanks for the tips. It's an expensive option for 2 adults and 4 children (even if 1 child's free), so dh and I are now thinking the free Nick event might be a better bet because the circus doesn't sound as though it'll be *really* memorable - and I still have horrid memories of how hot the Moscow circus tent got!
