I am having the worst time with trying to pick a boys name and the closer I get to my EDD the more I am stressing wacko.gif

If we have a girl she will be Ava Grace.

For a boy, the middle name has to be Craig, last name is MacDonald.

So far we have:

Mason (but not sure about the MM factor)
Ryan
Lachlan
Jacob (nn Jake)
Jayden

I want a strong boys name that will go just as well on an adult as a baby so not anything too 'cutsie'. But I also don't like anything that is too old fashioned that doesn't suit a child. I don't mind names that are a little different (like Mason) but don't like names that are too 'out there' and neither does my DH. (Did I mention that I am really really fussy?? laughing2.gif ) We have 16 neices & nephews as well so there are some other names we like but can't use (like Joshua). Originally I didn't want anything too popular, but it doesn't really bother me anymore, I just want a name that both me and my DH are really happy with.

So, honest opinions on my list so far? Any other suggestions would be fantastic, I am going insane staring at baby name books and websites wacko.gif

I think all your names are nice, apart from Jayden, which I loathe. Please don't use it! The others are so much classier.

My pick would be Lachlan (though it is quite popular).

Some other options:
Patrick
Colin
Duncan
Evan
Owen
Brendan
James
Hamish

I also put my vote in for Lachlan, out of all your names, it flows nicely with Craig

Ooooh, nice list Kath wink.gif!

I would happily pick either Lachlan, Jacob or Ryan. These names were always on MY list, I just couldn't get DH to agree! Mason is a nice enough name but doesn't really do it for me IYKWIM, and for some reason there is just something I dislike about the name Jayden ph34r.gif.

OMG, your little one is going to be here any minute now - HOW EXCITING!!! laughing2.gif wub.gif

Hi Mrs Mac

I love your girls name and we are considering Ava too so definitely a big yes vote from me there!

I'll be brutally honest, you did ask for opinions:

Mason - no. all the Mason's I've known have been bullies.
Ryan - nice but plain, prefer Ronan
Lachlan - lovely, lovely, name! this would be my pick
Jacob (nn Jake) another great name, my 2nd pick
Jayden - sorry but there are a lot of bad associations with this name for me too, bit similar to Mason.

HTH
Addison
maddy01
Lachlan Craig MacDonald - perfect!

Agree with Addison & Beck - scrap Jayden.

Good luck! We too are due imminently and haven't yet agreed names...

I second all of these!

Lachlan Macdonald is great too if you don't mind that there are a lot of Lachlans out there.

Ryan Craig MacDonald gets my vote.

Friends of mine are due this month and they've also decided on "Ava Grace" and "Jake" (surname Donaldson). laugh.gif

From your boys list I prefer: Jacob (nn Jake), although TBH they're all a little too popular/overused ATM for my liking. blush.gif

If my bubs is a girl she will be Ava too.

I would say Ethan for a boy (plus that is my son's name).

I think it suits a child and a man and besides every Ethan I have met has been a sweetie
