Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has been under Dr Jakub Dreher. I have an appt. with him next month for the first time. What is he like? Going to him due to having problems TTC.
Thanks

I have heard nothing but WONDERFUL things about Dr Dreher and his midwives from 3 separate friends who all went through him for their babies. I'm sure you'll like him. Good luck in your quest for a baby!
I was under the impression Jakob Dreher is a general ob/gyn - have heard great reports from friends who saw him when pg. Does he specialise in infertility too?

Hi 2angles,
I am currently seeing Dr Dreher. The guy is great! I had my first appointment with him last week and he took the time to explain everything we needed to know and the appointment went for 30 mins.
He took the time yesterday to call me back after I had called his office with some worries.
I highly recommend him
Nicole
Hi, I saw Dr Dreher back in 2002 for my pregnancy and birth and he was really wonderful throughout. He is kind and considerate and takes time to explain and listen. Good luck

yep, I think he is wonderful too! So calm about everything - he kept telling me that the pregnancy and birth were 'my show' and he'd pretty much do as I told him! LOL!
Not sure if he is an infertility expert, though, but I'm sure he could make appropriate recommendations...

Has anyone actually seen Dr Dreher for issues other than pg/birth?
2angles did your GP explain why he chose Dr Dreher to refer you to? It's just that there are other gynos around town who focus less on babies and more on getting ppl pg...

Yeah Steph I was thinking the same thing myself....not that I would know who those gynos are.
My 80 year old Grandma saw Dreher for a fibriod (I think???) so he does that side of things.

Dr Nicci Sides and Janelle McDonald both do mostly infertility with a bit of gyno stuff on the side. Their treatment is done through SIVF Canberra. Nicci is my IVF doctor but also MIL's gyno. Neither of these doctors do obstetrics.
There are also infertility specialists associated with Canberra Fertility Centre - Dr Stafford-Bell and Dr Armellin and I'm not sure perhaps another one too. These doctors do still deliver babies.

Hi,
THankyou for yoor replies. my doc that i went to for the referral said that Dr Dreher was slowing getting into this side of the business as well. And since i dont know canberra all that well i had to take his work for it. Since i have never found a problem with my Doc and has always listed and done test and more test (got to the stage where it felt like i was always giving blood or something but aleast he put it onto medicare) that i trusted him. However maybe i should look into other gyn now.
thanks

I have just had my baby and Jakub was my ob. He was FANTASTIC and I could not sing his praises highly enough. I had a few complications during my pregnancy and he was always really great with explaining and keeping my mind at ease. He is such a calm, friendly person that you instantly feel at ease with him. He actually missed the delivery of my bubba (it was so fast) but he was there for my stiches and was so lovely and just so encouraging about the whole birth etc. I am actauilly sad that I will no longer see him on a regular basis that's how much I liked him! Will certainly use him again!
Good luck!
Mel
