Anyways, just remarking on the cost of BYO and showing my 'country-ness'... and admitting that I get chatty when nervous, and tipsy after a glass of wine!

Plus I am Bec, for the list above (not that it matters too much) and thanks again for organising this... so looking forward to it!

Hi Nicole....I am afraid I am going to have to "pull the plug" for Friday night ... I feel kinda bad though as I know I was one of the ones that couldn't make it to the other date that was originally suggested so the date was changed!

I have had 4 molars extracted in the last few weeks in readiness for my braces that went on last Thursday... nearly a week on and I am still having issues eating front teeth extremely tender and with 4 of the big suckers at the back missing, I am finding it near impossible to chew on anything... great for the figure though !

Anyway, am sorry I won't be able to make it, I hope you ladies have a wonderful night... and I hope to join you all again at the next dinner once my mouth returns to normal.. if it ever does!!

Edited to say... Janette I obviously won't be needing a lift anymore but thanks for the offer..might catch up with you on Friday!

Lisa that's fine - just PM your details. I hope to collect you all between 6:45 and 7pm, but DH had apparently forgotten about the dinner when I mentioned it tonight, so hopefulyl there won't be any problems with getting away on time.

Sorry, I'm going to have to pull plug on this one too. Big family celebration on Sunday and I'm still running around trying to get everything done .

Nut - why don't you just come at 8.30 for an hour? The food will have arrived, you can pick at our banquet leftovers and we'll all get to say hi to you but there won't be any pressure to stay.

I won't know a single person, although living in Canberra all my life.. the 6 degress of seperation will probably come into force with someone... I could be wrong though... see you all tonight girls!

I am excited... been getting the house sorted and everything done for this evening, so I can go out and enjoy without any lurking guilty feelings!

DS had great night last night (big sleeps, only one wake up), and today has been settled/ sleeping really well... maybe that's a sign things are about to not go so well, BUT he did great with his vaccinations this afternoon... so far! DH (my legend DH) insists that even if DS becomes unsettled, that I will still go out!

BTW, I do not know anyone either, except that I have now met Emma for 5 seconds at daycare (and Robyn's husband too!! ) I think of it this way... I've got nothing to lose! This is a great way to make friends here, with people who have common interests/ ideas BUT if no one likes me, or I make a big fool out of myself, then I just never show my face/ username again!!! (Ha, my DH and I have been thinking of new usernames for me ... Bixiedelle was his suggestion!)

Ah, yes, you can tell I am going to be the talkative one!!!! How about I make a big fool out of myself straight away, so everyone can relax, knowing it won't be them... I'll try and trip on my way in the door, or spill my drink over myself!!! See you soon...

I am worried about leaving Connor, but he is 18 months old, so should be fine. He still has a breast feed to sleep most nights, so I guess this is one way to try and break that habit.
