Hi all,

I know some people mentioned that their families where going through this a couple of months back, well just thought I would give you the "heads up" and let you know that its going around again sad.gif

We have just spent our lovely long easter weekend battling the dreaded vomiting bug and it was horrible sad.gif

Started with Quinn, poor little man was sick every hour on the hour. 31 hours later it decided to start on Miss Zoe.

Every 15 minutes my beautiful little one was being sick, she had nothing left in her tummy but it just kept on going, the pain in her eyes was unbearable sad.gif All we could do was hold her and let her know we where there for her.

3 hours later Dave was next on its hit list, he hasn't been sick in the 7 years that I have known him, and apparently a long time before that, he was struck with it every hour also.

At least I guess the bug was being thoughtful and didn't want anyone to feel that they where missing out ;p so an hour after Dave started it was my turn (interestingly I was every 15 minutes like Zoe)!

Thankfully it only seems to last for 6 hours (thats the vomiting part) any more than that I honestly don't think Zoe would of been able to cope. I really thought that we might have to do the dreaded "hospital" trip for rehydration but luckily it wasn't needed.

A couple of days later am still feeling like I have bit hit by a mac truck but thats to be expected!

Anyway I was told by "health first" (oh I love those guys original.gif) and the chemist, told my mum (who was doing the medicine run for us), that there is alot of it around at the moment sad.gif

Guess I will have to save our Easter eggs for next year lol Tounge1.gif

Hope everyone else is well and had a wonderful easter original.gif

cheers

Alexandra

Yep we've got it too!

DD had it Thursday-Saturday and also had really bad tummy pains, I got it Monday night and DS yesterday afternoon. It seems to have a really long incubation period. So far DH seems to have escaped - fingers crossed.

I know of another family that has been taken over by it too so it is definately going around. Hope you are all feeling better soon.

You poor things,
Both Ryan and I have been sick since the weekend with a bad cold. His poor little nose is red and very blocked. I found that a ventilator has given some relief for him. As for me I will just have to put up with it. Thankfully we have not had the vomiting bug!
I hope you are all feeling better

Yep, our household has it too. Alana was sick with a vomiting bug a couple of weeks ago and now DH is sick and was throwing up the other night.

So far I just feel really tired and hope that I manage to avoid the vomiting part.

Am hoping that Sean doesn't get sick and that the breastmilk gives him some protection.

I have friends that have it as well.

Good luck to all those that are sick and hope you are better soon

Sorry to hear that you all have the dreaded vommiting bug.

It ripped through our family a few weeks ago and it wasn't pleasant.

Our family has been struck down with a new one - some sort of super flu. Even poor little Charlotte is sick.

Feel rotten, and I'm supposed to be going to a preschool committee meeting tonight and I can't really get out if it as I'm the treasurer and a few people are waiting on cheques etc from me (that I'm supposed to to be doing NOW, but I snuck onto EB for a bit first).

Hi Alex,

Sorry to hear that you have all been sick. Poor Zoe. She looked so happy too on Friday! So far, touch wood, we have managed to avoid it. Last time DJ had it knocked her for six. Ended up in a bad way. I hope she doesn't catch it again in a hurry.

I hope you are all feeling better. hugs, Sue.

Yep
We have had it here too! All 3 of us within 2 days of each other. Our doctor said it has a 48 hour incubation period. Maddison got it first - coincided with my first night out since she was born. So I raced home as DP couldnt hold her and clean everything up at the same time.
We too rang health first (they are fantastic) and they gave us some helpfull advice.
Anyway Maddison had it on thursday/friday, DP on sunday and I have just recovered from mine after spending all day yesterday sick.
Maddison starts daycare on monday so I guess I have more of this to look forward to!
Hope everyone feels better soon
Take care

Sorry to hear that there are a few others of you battling it at the moment or have just battled it! I really was hoping that it wasn't spreading as fast as they seemed to think it was but looks like that was just wishful thinking sad.gif

kazpi- oh heck I had heard that there was also an extremly bad dose of the flu going around! You poor things, you must feel like one thing after another sad.gif

Emelia- You hang in there little one and "fight" I have *fingers crossed* that she dosen't get it Karen.

I have informed our family that "thats it" for 2005 now , NO more sickness! lol ;p

Anyway thanks for the well wishes , *hugs* to you all and I hope that everyone is feeling much better soon original.gif

Cheers

Has anyone been suffering from a tummy cramp and gastro bug?

DH had it on Sunday and Monday. Then I came down with it on Tuesday and Wednesday. Throughout this time DS luckily only suffered a very mild dose of gastro thank goodness - was happy otherwise. We're all well on the road to recovery but I can't help thinking where on earth we picked this up from. Is there something going around?

I think there is something going around again (or the same one) as I know of another member's family who have had this bug in the last couple of days.

PLEASE I don't want it; I think I might have to go into hibernation for a few weeks.

Thanks

Yes Helen it's got me too - gastro Wed nite, yesterday arvo and again this morning. Since lunch time yesterday I've been feeling 110% crap - fevers, shivery etc.

I spent most of yesterday arvo lying on the floor under a blanket while DD played, and this morning is shaping up pretty similar. Luckily she slept well last night.

DH and I are also under an extreme amt of stress these last few days sad.gif and Tues/Wed nites only had a few hours of sleep due to a combination of lying awake and attending to DD, so I wondered whether that is what caused it but I think I definitely have a bug and the stress/lack of sleep is only making it worse :|.

I hope you lot are feeling better soon and that babies in particular don't get it too badly!

Good thing is that today is the first day since we got this bug that I've got up and everybody is feeling fine. No more tummy cramps and no more runs to the toilet (sorry if TMI). I'm really hoping that's the end of it but until it does I, like Rohan, will be hibernating for a bit. original.gif

I hope everyone's feeling better soon.

Cheers,
Helen.

We got our lot last w/e. Geoff got it from daycare (Mawson) last Wed. (I assume) and Friday night he was vomitting and had bad tummy cramps, fever, etc. I developed it two days later. Horrendous bug. Couldn't stomach a thing not even water for two days. ABA were great in helping me figure out how to keep milk supply up! Seems like loads of kids from Geoff's daycare got it too over the w/e. Luckily Chris and Ella are fine.

Oh and chicken pox is going around (again), Woden area, from what I hear....great... sad.gif

Best recovery to those who've had it,
Alex.
